Replace your phone with a flip phone. Or use the health and well being settings to limit and track time spent on apps. Things like tik tok and YouTube shorts are designed to keep you scrolling for hours on end. Put the phone down put a rubber band on your wrist and snap yourself with the rubber band every time you reach for the phone.

You have to go cold turkey on the short form media. Watch absolutely none of it. It adds nothing to your life. Do the rubber band thing for everytime you get the impulse to watch one. Uninstall tiktok and even YouTube if your phone allows you to.

What ambitions did you have before? Have you abandoned them?

people try to feel happy/motivated, and THEN do things, but alot of the time it's the other way around
you do things, and then you become happy/motivated
maybe take martial arts classes or something, it seems to work for many people

motivation/ambition will come once you've started doing enough active & engaging shit

The problem is you aren't bored enough. If you do what I said and can really keep yourself away from the phone, eventually you'll get so bored that you start doing homework or chores.

It's all about dopamine. Short form content provides instant gratification while completing longer tasks like homework or chores give a delayed sense of gratification. You need to retrain your mind to enjoy doing regular stuff again. The ambition comes back after you stop being addicted to digital crack.

Even if I understand your fear, don't be that worried. You are way too far from ruining your 20's, in fact, you have the time and prior knowledge to enjoy and use your youth properly
What is that knowledge I'm talking about? Well, that "self-awareness" you're talking about. You know that what you're doing is bad for your goals and life, and with that you already took an important step on overcoming the problem
As someone who has been chronically online these last weeks too, I can sure you that your best bet is to get bored of Internet. Specifically get bored of TikTok and Youtube. Even if I've never used TikTok, when I watch videos on Youtube I know that eventually the algorithm won't have anything to recommend me to keeping me chained watching videos. But why should we wait? Just get rid of that shitty social media, and do other stuff. Take a walk; read a book; study for your next semester. It's on your hands, Anon. Best wishes!
