Does your mother do weird things when she's drunk, when she thinks no one is listening to her. Sometimes my mum drinks wine late at night and as she's about to go to bed she makes these strange tskk noises with her mouth. Other times I hear her drop something and instead of tutting or sighing, she does this fake crying noise for about 5 seconds like, "waaa, oh no! *sobbing*, and then she stops.
