>What is puroresu
It's Japanese pro-wrestling.
>Why would I watch it
It's fun. It's like watching a live-action fighting game.
>Is this fake
Yes.
>Why should I watch it if it's fake
I mean, most entertainment is fake. TV shows and movies are fake. Even real sports tend to be rigged.
>No, I mean, aren't the moves fake
Well, not really. They know how to do them in ways that don't hurt so bad and they sometimes cooperate. But there's no way to fall eight feet from the air on your back and not have it hurt.
>Is this like WWE
Kinda-sorta. But Japanese puroresu is more sports like and harder hitting. Less goofy over-the-top personalities and more of an effort to make it all look real.
>Why are you posting this here
Because it's fun? I mean, isn't half the fun of being here discovering new things?
Ok. I'll link to a match. If anyone is interested, I'll link to more later. I'll probably do that a few times anyway. Since a lot of what I'll post are women wrestlers I'm also willing to post pictures of them as well on request.

>Do men wrestle too?
Of course. Men's wrestling has always been more popular. And I'll share some of these as well, I just didn't want dudes as my picrel on the catalog.

I don't think sports tend to be rigged I feel that's a little exaggerated and it just happens to be that this fake show surrounds sweaty men manhandling eachother and throwing eachother around except it's all for fun it's like a really weird and really gay re enactment of childhood rough housing. So that sets it apart from other entertainment. Which part of the sweaty male body satisfies you the most? How about what sexually implicit move is your favorite?? Are you a fan of pile drivers?

It's just a medium for storytelling, same as any other. And great stories do get told in pro-wrestling.
I think Super Eyepatch Wolf explained it better than I can here.

Where exactly would you say the gay fetishism you hypothesize is with this one, anon?

One of the best on-going storylines recently was around a couple of wrestlers, one named Tam Nakano and the other named Saya Kamitani. The story is better summarized here but I'll give you the gist:
https://www.reddit.com/r/TwoBestFriendsPlay/comments/1j6kzyn/the_end_of_the_tam_road_the_end_of_the_story_of/
Tam Nakano is a failed idol. She came to pro-wrestling around 30, which is old for joshi puroresu. She was kind of someone people liked but wrote off given her age and lack of experience.
I can't get into the details but she ended up making a big name for herself, getting herself into feuds that became big deals. And while she was rising, another failed idol debuted, seeing pro-wrestling as her last chance: Saya Kamitani.
Saya had times when she wanted to give up. And Tam was one of ones who mentored her when it was darkest, pushing her to go on. And Saya began winning championships of her own, even taking Tam's championship.
Saya belonged to a group called Queen's Quest. Queen's Quest was the Top Unit at a time, but it was plagued with difficulties. The founder left to WWE. Then the gal who led them ended up betraying them to join the villain unit Oedo Tai. Then the third leader, her best friend friend, left for another company. And then she was the leader, and under her watch they lost a match where they had to disband.
So Saya did the reasonable thing: She joined the villains and declared war on the unfair business that kept slapping her down. Then she challenged her former mentor Tam to a match for the top belt, which she won. Then they feuded for a while, culminating first in a loser-leaves-the-company match:

But this was not enough. Eventually they had another rematch, where the loser had to retire (for real) completely:
