Get a flash cart for a gameboy and put the DX ROM hacks of the Super Mario geboy games on them. They run with no slowdown and full color.

It's just a standard CR-32 watch battery, replacing them is easy and they last like 25 years. All you need is the proper bit to open the cart, and you can get one of those for a buck or two on ebay.

Do flashcarts work on the SuperGameboy? A GB/GBC/GBA flashcart is the only one that I haven't gotten yet.

Decent flashcarts do work on Super Game Boy, just remember that Super Game Boy doesn't do actual Game Boy Color games, just color palettes that are either selected or made specifically for GB games when played in a GBC/SGB
Also the Super Game Boy runs a little bit fast, so "no slowdown" was something of an understatement
