In 2005, Kanye said on live TV that George Bush doesn't care about black people. This was seen as falling out of line, an unacceptable criticism of a president, both for a celebrity and for Kanye. Wow.
Do you ever just feel that past 2016 society got completely deranged and dysfunctional? Sometimes I think, "stop exaggerating things, political protest is nothing new, simply different times, yadda yadda ", but then I remember stuff like this and I almost can't believe how different everything was.
Oh and another thing. Again, remember another Kanye moment with Beyonce /Taylor Swift at VMA 2009. Notice something? Beyonce is still considered a top celeb. Taylor Swift is still a top celeb. A fucking "voice of a generation". It's like nothing changed. Almost like living a groundhog day.
And it's not just music. Oblivion, a 2005 game, just got remade. Minecraft started in 2009 and just got a movie. Half the kids today still play Roblox for fucks sake.
And it's not to say there's nothing new. No, on the contrary. It's just even worse. Music past 2010 is a joke. K-Pop is cancer. Mumble rap is cancer. TikTok is cancer. I'm not even sure if I'm just imagining things, or back in 2005 this would be considered absolute trash, the new low of humanity. Today, it's just the norm.
What fucks me over so much is just HOW quickly and easily people accepted all this as a norm, along with trannies. Turns out all it takes is one generation of brainwashing. Libs were onto something, I guess they realized that people were way more ignorant than anyone thought.

I get what you mean… But. There's a difference between current year pop/rap slop and 60s-90s. And it is quite easy to pinpoint. Modern "musicians" can't even play or sing. They don't write good songs, either they write slop or get someone else to write for them.

I think we haven't really reached zenith. But the culture and the market has changed.
The computers and internet have definitely shaken up the traditional media to the core. In the one hand, this was a blessing. I mean, everyone can create art now and share it, right? But at the same time, there was a side effect.
This led, on the one hand, to the rise of cheap rubbish. From mobile games, to electronic music, to reaction videos and shitty kids content, it's all united by one thing: it's cheap and accessible. It quickly became clear that masses don't care that much, they will easily consume cheap slop over real music/movies/etc.. This hurt real artists a lot.
On the other hand, conversely, computers and internet led to the new level of expensive media. CGI steeply increased the average movie production cost; in the music biz they realized looks and hype sell, which created ridiculously overhyped, hyper commercial artists. Again, this devalued real artists, because media became way more corporate, with execs having the last say, instead of creative freedom, and it became impossible to compete with huge top 40 artists.
Video games in particular have been the single most ridiculous case of cost increase. They went from small single man projects to being literally more expensive than the most expensive movies.
Finally, the market has changed. Let's face it—old media was mostly for white dudes. You know how things are in a world post Obama, we're not allowed to have that anymore. But also there's just something that changed about the internet. After iPhone and social media, there was a huge influx of normies, women and children. And the marketers realized a simple truth: it's way easier to sell shit to women and children than picky white dudes. They don't care about the message, or music, almost anything; they're flock creatures responding only to what's popular. That's the whole reason for the success of K-Pop and modern music.

Perhaps there are other reasons, but these are the main ones. There's just no place for the artists in the current year. They're stuck between cheap slop and expensive blockbusters, pop artists, AAA games etc.. The most profitable demographics, women and children, absolutely don't care what they want to say, and they wouldn't get it anyway.
Someone said that if MJ was born today, he wouldn't be popular. I think they're right. It's one thing to have talent; it's another thing if people want it. Many people think that "if it's good, it will be popular, and if it's popular, it must be good". But I think a simple glimpse at the cultural current landscape demonstrates how wrong this is.
Sadly this is how things are in a cultural landscape defined by K-Pop, TikTok, Baby Shark, Mr. Beast, Minecraft, Cardi B and mumble rap. The culture is the reflection of the society, and currently it is reflecting retarded children, women and niggers.
