Tariffs, a simple mechanism with simple math (makes price of thing go up, corporations ain't charities and will pass on the increased price they pay for thing to person buying thing AND importing thing with tariff would still be cheaper than making thing locally, america simply does not have the labor force to compete and if ai-robots could solve this issue... eh, why we no do that first?), fondly implemented by a simpleton. Bearing in mind humans have had an empirical understanding of themselves and the world they inhabit for a few hundred of the few tens of thousands (hundreds of thousands if ya wanna include our monkey ancestors) of years inwhich they've inhabited said world.
