it might be a blood flow thing
when my blood flow is worse for whatever reason, the tinnitus is always unbearable
try to eat well and avoid too much sugar or tobacco
try to sleep well
avoid stress
get exercise

Could be frome caffeine, high amounts of salt in your diet, or from a shit diet. Try eating more whole foods. Also add omega fats to your diet.

>t. undiagnosed high blood pressure patient
Tinnitus is a warning sign of clinical hypertension, I had a case of this and thought I had an ear infection
>go to doc
>doc took my arm pressure with the machine
>does a double-take
>gets out the stethoscope and old-fashioned mercury meter
>both confirmed the same: I should be in hospital because I was about to have a heart attack

Turns out that being woken up every single night at 2am through environmental noise completely fucks up your body's regulation

Probably all of these.
It's just been yesterday and today anyway so it'll likely subside

one time i got tinnitus REEEEEEEEEEal bad and i started dreaming this cone thing was being beamed into my ear, like the noise was being pumped in. i felt weirdly calm about it for a sec then it magically went away. woke up to mild tinnitus in the *other* ear.
