Oh no my DT replacement thread was deleted, here's my new one. It's like shelter from the storm until widdle big black balls bvll comes back better make a heckin tea
Bascially I was mulling over it more, because I like the idea of this character codenamed 'Monsoon'
Being the descendant of an ancient race of people that went extinct and them being from earth but I was thinking maybe I could make them aliens after all and differ somewhat from Superman DragonBalls Gokue/saiyans.
Basically, they came to earth a long time ago, and lived on the earth for a long time until they mysteriously vanished and went extinct/were wiped out.
But it almost doesn't matter see the problem is I think it might be harder for people to have a suspension of disbelief or like anything that deals with earth's history being changed too much or anything that could disrupt Genesis. People don't like anything thar could imply the Bible wasn't completely true or something even though, Superman's origin does this. Because it lends to the idea that humans could have been from outerspace, or something like that.
Basically my idea for these people they could obviously be a stand in for isrealites, or even black people and indegenious people. But I could see some people liking that maybe as well, but that's not my desired intention.
Bascially these people lived in harmony with the earth, they would have been somewhat like indegenious people yes, but also kind of similar to Elves or something too. But they live in secret throughout much of history and don't intervene/bother with the rest of earth's conflicts.
Ugh it brings up a lot of questions though.
I just don't know. I don't know what to do. See, I kind of imagine them like the Navi in Avatar, but how do you beat portray that except for on an alien planet.
I still want earth's history to largely be that of the same.
But I really like the novel idea of them not being aliens, and what that implies for a change. Because an alien would always be stranger, outsider, foreigner to some degree.
It's just so hard to be sure god damnit, I don't even know where to begin to decide the importance or value of these ideas for an origin ans backstory where do I even begin to decide what is good enough?
Anyway
I was thinking about some villains, I was thinking about maybe having him fight demons a lot, but the stories would involve other dimensions and outerspace other planets and I was thinking "just demons?" I don't know if that's enough or if it really fits, what about an even bigger cosmic threat? And then I thought, hey what about a space devil? So maybe there would be other devils and space devils, because when you thunk about it the devil is probably mostly an earth phenomenon, so that's where a lot of the enemies come from, outer space.
Because I was thinking about how the devil is almost like a curse on not just humanity but also the earth itself. And is possibly a reason why we might not be able to salvage the earth because the devil makes the earth worth then it is, but the devil is only powerful on earth maybe and the only way to escape the devil is to abandon earth.
Also I will make the earth like some kind of a pocket dimension, because that's what I sort of believe, that the rest exists in an almost pocket dimension, even though you can see it in outerspace and it's visible that way. The pocket dimension prevents things like asteroids or meteorites from hitting it.
Also I was thinking because of all this that like,
I think I want to focus on the idea of true 'evil'this character Monsoon fights against threats that are of true evil in nature all the time. But that seems sort of like a boring villain after a while maybe, I'm not sure, just really otherworldly.
Superman's villains are really otherworldly a bit but they're still really sci fi a lot of the time. I want truly supernatural otherworldly. Threats.
But then as an example, I really like Dragonballs villains too. I think they're great, and I would want to almost take from that almost. But the thing is I'm just not sure.
UGH! More le uncertainty and lots of thinking/analyzing work to be done.
I'm not exactly sure how strong to make them or how invulnerable but I still like the idea of their main power source being a kind of 'soul power'
I don't want them to be as nearly as strong or invulnerable as superman but I like all the situations superman gets into that test his invulernabililty all the time that only he survived, like getting sucked into a black hole or something, or flying right up to the sun among other aspects, I just love that.
But I was thinking that instead, Monsoon is not as invulnerable necessarily outright. But they are able to withstand and survive tremendous situations that destroy other beings, like they could get sucked into a black hole as an example but I think bascially. It all comes down to their soul power which is where there power comes from that allows them at times to survive situations like that.
But it poses and brings up different questions, like bascially his 'soul power' instead of just being purely hard fiction sci fi, it brings different variables into the equation that are different topics and perspectives altogether.
Basically his power is comes from some type of ethereal force, not quite celestial or altogether cosmic, because his power basically comes from God I guess, but it's not necessarily said to be God, it's more so a mysterious and powerful energy source from basically another dimension or a multi dimensional force.
It's hard to explain, it almost sounds like it doesn't make sense I'm not sure how to fully explain. Like for example I think when he first goes into outer space because of the nature of his powers, he doesn't know if he will survive and it's very difficult for him, but oxygen starts to suddenly surround his body basically there's no oxygen in space but an oxygen field develops from our of nowhere around him, it's almost like magical. It basically mysterious happens, but it comes from the 'sources' a mysterious force or entity his powers come from
Bascially I think it would seem a bit like the 'forcefield the jedi I guess. A mixture of how the powers work in Akira but also the force from Star Wars perhaps
It’s like how in Sonic teh hedgehog how both sonic and shadow fight in outer space it doesn’t explain how they breathe in space who knows what the explanation is, it’s just supposed to be their Ki/Chi or whatever but here my idea isn’t that different or far removed the difference is that I would show it/explain it more often
Which gives more of an ethereal quality overall I guess
There’s a difference between what I’m doing and like hard science fiction/regular science fiction, I guess which tries to make everything more explained, and grounded. For some reason I guess, they don’t go in an otherworldly ethereal direction as often.
But it’s similar to like a lot of eastern fiction I guess like dragon ball
Except I would show it, feature and explain the reason and source of it all more often
But then like I said it’s not too different from the Force in Star Wars or Akira as an example

Anyway I was thinking of influences, I came up with a lot of influences for ideas of how I wanted to portray the monsoon character and I saved most of
Them on my laptop that stopped working that I want to try and recover data from but anyways
One of the influences was Steven Universe I’m not entirely sure, but I sort of wanted to do something kind of similar, but less gay/sexually ambiguous of course and a bit more serious I guess but the aesthetic mostly I guess I liked I wanted to kind of go for something like that Steven universe is somewhat ethereal but it doesn’t feel impossibly ‘light’ and floaty exactly nor does it seem Christian or religious exactly.
Which is territory I’m gonna have to thread obviously my character monsoon seems almost like an allegory for Christianity and Jesus but I want to avoid that somewhat
I don’t want my character to seem too traditional or religious I want to break out of that box

But then damn I really like Thor too but I feel like Thor is almost a niche character you can’t really expect to have that style or aesthetic and expect to be too popular and not niche at all hence the whole point of Thor probably

Basically kingdom hearts was a possible influence as well for monsoon for various reasons
But one thing it inspired
Was this idea that there is an equal opposing force to monsoons power. I thought that maybe essentially monsoons power is light in a sense and that due to this there is an equal opposite force in the world thought of as darkness. And it’s basically a power source and energy people are able to tap into, possess, and utilize.
Which is basically the same idea as the Darkness in Kingdom Hearts.
The only problem is I am not sure if I should include this much into one character and I wonder if this basic idea
Of light and dark energy/power
Would be better represented in a separate character perhaps but it requires more painstaking thought I guess. Superman is kind one character where they took many ideas from pulp fiction and combined them together but I think with most superheroes they take a few ideas and spread the ideas apart to different characters or series.
So the question is do I want to put all these ideas into one character? If I want a chance to maybe rival characters major characters then I feel like it’s a must.
"In Taoism, light and energy are intertwined concepts representing different aspects of the Tao, or the fundamental principle of the universe. Light symbolizes wisdom, enlightenment, and the transformative power of the Tao, while energy (Qi or Chi) is the vital force that animates all things and can be cultivated through various practices. Taoist practices often involve harnessing and directing this energy to achieve balance, healing, and spiritual development."
Now I have to decide if I want to include this in the story or not. Is there just regular energy or is all energy light I can kind of see why this is seperate for example, what's with the importance placed on the concept of light? Why is light usually seen as the personification of life force or energy and goodness in the West?
There's light which is seen as good and darkness which is seen as evil, but I've seen it done many times where frighteningly enough the idea of light can be used to represent like holiness and the divine and it's used publicly to somehow equate with what is seen as good or pure in some kind of hierarchy.
Basically light is some weird concept that is held above people's head I think, all things that are considered "light" in terms of behavior, mannerisms, physical features is supposed to represent innate inner light or some shit.
But why is that? Is it really as Christian as people think
Personally I think it could be the old long standing worship in light from the sun for an example, and a stand in for 'sun' worship overall potentially
How is it not basically the sun? I think when most people think of light it's usually light from like the sun that lights everything and let's us see ans nourishes plants. But God is not considered to be the sun.
That's why I dunno, now I am less fond of the idea of light power versus darkness
I am kind of stuck on the idea of wanting it to be like the force in star wars and have two sides but not literally light or darkness I'm not sure how to fit it all together, but the possibilities make me excited.
Maybe to go against convention even more well I don't know if it's just better to not go into the idea of light and darkness altogether and to avoid that.
Honestly I'm starting to think 'energy's better because it's like love bascially. Love is not considered holy or as good but it's probably second to holiness and yet love often has nothing to do with light outright, it's like a form of energy, but it's very distinct.
Ugh it's a fucking rainbow in the dark for me methinks, like totally
Also I am a little more on the side of Beyond good and evil by Nietzsche so I probably shouldn't get all into light and darkness like that
Because it seems too painfully Christian too
Uh I think like instead of outright 'evil' it will be like in Star Wars where there's like different sides of the force and one side is more extreme or intolerant I guess but the thing is it's not like star wars in that there won't be many different energy wielders characters with abilities and powers like Monsoon. So I'm not sure how I would do that exactly.
Actually I'm still not entirely sure. I could do both because darkness powers almost still make more sense then just energy fielders but it negates this concept I have for there being different energy powers based on the color of the energy. And also it pushes back on idea the source of power being that of energy it brings into it different connotations, I'm not really sure how to go about this.
I think maybe I could do both but downplay the good versus evil aspect. The profound magnitude or the darkness maybe wouldn't be so apparent
ok had my 'ffee

ben shapiro lost his funding because he's subversion posting
no way with his IQ he would be such a blatantly obvious shill if he was actually trying to push his narrative

maybe he's been purposely encouraging jordan peterson's worst tendencies to make him look bad
>>22982692Who cares about Ben Shapiro? At the end of the day, will anyone remember his name in battle from glory's past?
Okay so I guess maybe I'm not adding to many ideas to this character because I was looking at Marvel's sentry and that dude has a ton of powers more then even superman
And sentry is kind of an overly complicated character
Another potentional problem I have is that I feel like it would clash that I have all these different ideas like the soul power thing based on chi/ki/qi maybe I shouldn't call it soul power not sure about that yet.
But also the different colored soul power/energy manifestation of powers, being more energy based then purely on light.
Not being too religious or Christian in undertones and themes.
But basically I wanted to try and combine like DCs Constantine with like Superman partially as well, because i just thought that would be like interesting.
But I'm not sure, I don't want to be too clearly or traditionally evil necessarily. It just kind conflicts with some of my ideas. But then I wonder if that's what Superman fundamentally is almost. I guess Superman doesn't usually face outright magic characters too often coz he's weak to magic.
But also see, the force darkness powers I wanted to include sort of conflict with this idea of being like Constantine. I just thought it would be cool for a character to like literally fight enemies based on demons from hell and literal space devil/demons, so like there's another level of hell beyond the earth. I liked that idea.
But I'm also not sure what to do about this. I'm thinking this could potentionally be another character who fights space demons maybe, but the thing is this character wouldn't be that far removed or different from the concept of Monsoon or even like a highly super powered character.
So it makes me think, what's the point in splitting them apart? What's the point of making it into a different character altogether? I don't know.
Maybe there needs to be an earth's protector from le heckin 'space satan'
Another thing I have to think deeply about
Basically something like this
Or Space Constantine/space demons
