Christians should have acted like Buddhist missionaries: retained local gods, but made them less significant. Like, yes, they are all creations of one, but not the most important ones, and categorized the overtly bloody and cruel as demons. Instead, they should have built a pyramid of gods, like in Asia, and engaged in comparative mythology, drawing parallels and trying to construct a unified picture of the world. But not without reducing pagan gods to the level of fictional characters or demons, since it's now clear how all myths and religions are connected. In that case, there would have been a syncretized religion that preserved local culture but was headed by the Trinity, and that's it.

globally it's not a white religion, but a religion of many ethnicity. however locally, your eyes can be tricked. for instance, if you are a german in the 1980s and all the germans around you are from a christian family and only turkish looking people are not-christians, you can come to the conclusion, that christianity is a white religion. this logic applies to other ethnicities as well. if you live in a majority black country where only the blacks are christians and there is a minority of non-christians chinese or indians, you might come to the conclusion that christianity is a religion of the black people.
