So basically being a medieval fantasy monarch comes in two flavors: abstract RTS and total war

total war being exponentially harder to explain an AI.

abstract RTS is like where I me and my people live in ONE WALLED CITY and in the backyard of our settlement (the forests and stuff) is all of the evils accumulating in armies to besiege us and be heckin evil

I just forgot, I could also include some Smiths in their I guess too, and maybe a little Johnny Greenwood from Radiohead

D’oh it would be really hard not to go complex a bit, but I would have to really spend more time analyzing the material and what I could do with it.

So I guess basically I would try to do The Beatles, The Smiths, Nirvana, Bob Dylan, and The Cure (but also Radiohead to a lesser extent) but I could still probably do Led Zeppelin to an extent because Led Zeppelin isn’t that difficult either with most of their songs and they did straight up rock mostly like I don’t think they used keyboards or many other instruments so it shows it is possible. I can play led zeppelin pretty easily I guess some people struggle with the riff and timing and rhythm

Thus it would be hard to like find how to make that all work together, I think I would attempt and do different styles instead of just trying to come up with one style and play it all the time because I would really like dipping my toes into some different genres like I could do blues a bit for example I just don’t know
If it would be really mainstream because this time around I would want to be as mainstream as possible
Anonymous (ID: fA/ZTqO0) Canada No.23509272 [Report]
Like damn this is led zeppelin and look how easy it is it’s like one of their best songs https://tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/tab/led-zeppelin/rock-and-roll-tabs-9485

I guess people really struggle with the rhythm but it’s fucking led zeppelin!

Man previously I played such ridiculously complicated music, but it would be hard coming up with the drum and bass for it like how as a guitarist and singer would you come up with ideas if you were hindered like I am?

Bob Dylan is pretty easy too he is literally mostly just chords but he played the piano and such as well.

It’s just ugh I would want to almost just do one album.

But the thing is, I would almost like to do one album where I play a bunch of different styles. And also I would like to do one album where I write about what I experienced in Canada, it could be like the darkest heaviest album and it would be raw and real you want to talk about dark song content I could really do that and people wouldn’t be able to believe it, it would be my like ‘holocaust’ music (like the guy from the Pianist movie) and then after that I would try to do a more lighter upbeat style of music
Anonymous (ID: fA/ZTqO0) Canada No.23509317 [Report]
Ugh like listen to this his playing and tone are just so good, he’s really clean and precise his playing style

Here’s one of his songs
https://youtu.be/etdColw0Knk?si=DcfqJgmHVkCpxb6j

Listening to it you really get a clear picture of what it was with the Smiths like his guitar playing is always really good but the song itself is just okay like you see how Morrissey was such a prominent and influential lyricist, singer and frontman that really added to Marrs guitar playing

This is incredibly easy for me to play, it’s so simple on one hand it’s hard to believe that’s all it is, and they were a big famous mainly guitar driven band.

But I would struggle with that to some extent memory wise probably but it’s doable to some extent don’t know hard it would be to memorize if it would be worth it, exactly…

I just started out on the guitar all wrong. Like when I started I looked at the guitar and went “oh that’s all sort of the same, I want to do something really original, because that way I would be remembered!” I could go down in all of history and be remembered. But yet right now, I’m a lot more into simple songs for some reason and it seems enough, I imagine it could have been enough for me back then as well. The thing is I understood the technical side to music to an extent, but I didn’t understand other aspects as much like I did but I overlooked them a lot. Like the tone itself, the tones and timbre of the music is all a really big deal in terms of what you are trying to get across and I didn’t understand I didn’t know there was all these different styles of music and you could play relatively simple music to the different styles and in regards to popular music most popular music is relatively simple they just choose whatever style and type of music is popular in that era/decade/year and write simple music to it.
But to me back then the music was just so simple it seemed too easy and simplistic though I enjoyed listening to it of course

I guess I forgot The Clash they’re another one

I mastered the guitar way too much and went overboard with complexity I guess it’s just part of the reason why was I wanted to be able to fall back on playing the guitar, like I wanted to be able to play for a variety of assembles and bands and also be a studio musician and also if you play really technical good music that also is good in other ways you’re sure to at least get some kind of cult following and good critic reception/reviews

But you don’t need to be that technically good to have a cult following

but I'm not all sure about this <<NO INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION>> world, I mean people in pakistan CRAFT guns by hand that look indistinguishable from manufactured guns

let me preface this with I certainly don't trust that they are reliable or safe.

The idea I had with a <<NO industrial revolution>> world was CANNONS AND pre-industrial-era FIREARMS because they CRACKED and ROARED LOUDLY

Here is from this Bob Dylan based movie , Jim Jones is singing here, it's all about the rustic folk type of earlier lifestyle thing, I like Bob Dylan a lot more because I understand a lot more deeper what he was about altogether.

But see Jim Jones basically accepts it I think and he's folk as fuck, but yet he still wears lots of black, I really wonder how that would make my music differ then because I wouldn't associate with the black, I don't know exactly what that would spell for me aesthetic wise

Bascially I would want to try and have almost an 80s type of sound maybe, but I don't know if that's really possible without coming across as really dated sounding I think it would be like a fine line there's probably a way to have that sound without making it too obvious but then it could almost be like a trademark thing for you if you're lucky, but I'm not 100% sure of the authenticity of such a sound if it's really what I want completely, I mean, I really want to deeply explore sound here, sonically.

I guess I would try and want to do the opposite of what black did and do it all back in reverse well I would only do that a tiny amount since I wouldn't want that lengthy of a career for sure.

I think one of the tricks is that you want to get the critics to like you a bit, at least that's one path to staying power and lasting in the biz you'll stay around for longer and develop a,cult following if you make music that's generally considered 'good' at all fronts. The better you're able to do this the longer your stay relevant in the biz to an extent probably. Like you don't need to be this massive breakout hit necessarily, but there are just so many bands that come and go and have barely left a mark. Its hard to say what it means to have mainstream potentional. But basically like I said there are different paths to success.

That's why I wanted to master the guitar so badly because I wanted to at least secure a status as a cult following act.
Anonymous (ID: fA/ZTqO0) Canada No.23509517 [Report]
Basically I think i would try to start off more like Bob Dylan and I would have a more acceptable style and wouldn't be genre bending and I would do that for some time but then I would attempt to break out of it and question it
Anonymous (ID: fA/ZTqO0) Canada No.23509530 [Report]
Then it would be

Thewilltopowerandnothingelse

Well sort of, I don't know if that would work or be accepted exactly, they would probably try and make it seem like 'you live in your own world' if you took such liberties and strayed from the beaten path too much.

I'm not entirely sure about all of this yet

But basically I'm not sure if you should accept it I'm not entirely sure about the whole parameters yet it's what I struggle with currently.

But I think you do have to try to break out of it a bit, without being black though, that's the thing they'll try to make it black all the time and you'll be needlessly oppressed

I would at least do some type of mixture of styles and themes I'm not sure ugh it just makes me wish I could go farther and do more because I have a lot of ideas but they would almost lead to too much complexity

But as long as the general idea was expressed, that's why I think the lyrics could be really important, the lyrics could paint a broader and deeper picture then I would hope to otherwise

I guess this song has a lot more scope and meaning then you would think it does, a lot of people find it cringy or they think it's too emo I don't understand why that is like I would really like to know, I think it's really good song writing

(I think) unless there's something about it that I'm not understanding I guess people probably are like they think he's triviliazing 9 11

The desire or motivation to go and fight in a war due to the terrorist attacks is like some illusion or something and he's being swept up in this illusion of sorts

But it was a pretty big idea I guess but it's also about his father as well

I like that Greenday goes for this 1950s kind of style and aesthstic sometimes, that's basically where their main tone comes from a lot of the time post american idiot

But they also go for a 60s kind of sound too at times becuase they like to keep it simple but I really like the 50s style they do no one else really does that but I don't know I mean that's like at the start of rock music, but I don't know if that would really work for me like finding a proper tone would be somewhat of a challenge I don't know how to get around that you could easily just make it really bright and chiming just add lots of chimes that would seem like the obvious solution
Anonymous (ID: fA/ZTqO0) Canada No.23509705 [Report]
I guess also wake me up when September ends I was talking about, I think some people thought he was trying to discourage him from getting caught up in the war hysteria because it was kind of wishing illusion and a lot of people probably thought that was bad they're probably like rearing and ready to go fight in a war and that would probably be how a lot of people would think that I'd the mentality to adopt

But also it's weird I think it makes a lot of people uncomfortable and they find it "emo" which is weird it really says something if you can't write or play a song about a disaster like 9/11

But on another level, this is partially what time think the song is about to some extent, I think it is about this kind of mentality and force that came to grip people, like when 911 happened something really changed, people saw the world in a different way probably. He was kind of trying to rouse people out of it, hence wake up, but he means to wake up on multiple levels

Like don't fall into a sleep state over the 911 propaganda and let them orchestrate how you see the world too much

So in that sense it's not really that bad

Ugh I forgot to mention I don't know how I feel about the crucifix pose he always makes I felt like they over did it a bit, like greenday seems a little insincere about being "punk" and all that whilst still being so mainstream, like they had a very well cultivated image at that period in time
It just seems too obvious and predictable and it's kind of egotistical for billie Joe to put himself I that position like yes it's also because he's a celebrity (but it's not accidental he almost seems to want to be a celebrity) but he's also basically making himself out to be christ like and that's a big deal and he doesn't seem as genuine enough to really accomplish that
