It's morning here and it's still dark and quiet. It's nice. Soon it's going to be winter which means I can start enjoying hot chocolate again. Which is one of the perks of it being stupidly cold.

yes that'll be good
i like not waking up in a sweat, not hearing bugs outside all the time, nice hot drinks, etc
sometimes using a heater/radiator can make the air very dry, which can irritate my sinuses
i think i prefer the colder weather overall though

i'll miss the summer storms & rainy days, those are nice for reading or whatever

I hate bugs.
Spring is all around the best season for me.
I have been making strides in music, but also at the same time feeling bad about it. I think I have gotten better overall, and more and more people are asking for socials. So I have to set it up soon...
In a way I have learned a lesson. To not fear mistakes, but be comfortable with them. Because the more you fear mistakes the harder it is to fix them and the harder it is to learn from them. and making mistakes is unavoidable, but fixing mistakes isn't. Most lyricists say the first draft is always messy, the second is holding your ego in check, and the third is the professional looking over. I guess this would apply to more than just music.

I used to have almost an indomitable spirit. I suffered from this weird sleeping disorder for years on end since I was 13 it caused me a great deal of suffering, it made it almost impossible to finish school. It was really difficult to get treatment for it, and I never actually have, because I couldn’t find a steady place to live, and last time they wanted me to see a psychiatrist first which was completely pointless, there was just no way that would end well, so I was basically blocked from proper treatment. Fucking quacks. I just bought a sleeping machine because at that point I was sure I had sleep apnea. But I wasn’t able to use the machine because I had to get a specific mask for it because I always tore it off in my sleep the one that came with it. But a bunch of stuff happened and I wasn’t able to do this either.

So anyway years later I go to America, the most unexpected thing happens, I have no sleeping disorder. Like none whatsoever. So I think there’s something wrong with the air in Canada, I’m pretty sure they do spray things in the air that I’m allergic to or something. It’s definitely not psychological.

But a bunch of other stuff happened to make that made it so I have to give up in some way.

it's impossible to know why the disorder went away, but now you know the problem is environmental, so all you have to do is go to another environment

Pretty much. I hate to admit it, but I'm sensitive about my music because I care a lot about it. A lot of music people are attached to their work so critique is hard to deal with, but it should be seperate. I still enjoy my older stuff that's "objectively" bad.
>>23542768
How weird. Maybe it was related to something in your room growing up or something. I'm no medical expert so I have no idea. Maybe something in your body was wrong and your body managed to fix/grow out of it. Like that weird toddler that grew a brain. The body is a mystery sometimes.

you could possibly use it as a source of inspiration, or base new music directly off of it
dunno...
>I hate to admit it, but I'm sensitive about my music because I care a lot about it. A lot of music people are attached to their work so critique is hard to deal with, but it should be seperate.
it's probably a good sign, as long as you have ways to deal with that lol
artists don't end up with overwhelming criticism unless their work has gotten people's interest in the past, maybe that would help to remember
it's sad to see stuff like what happened with DM dokuro

It just sucks that for years, I couldn’t go out on the weekend almost if I wanted to hold down a job or school because then it would fuck up my sleeping disorder. Also I wasn’t able to be as productive as I wanted to be because I would sleep for like 10-12 hours sometimes and then I would be up for less then 15 hours if I didn’t want to fuck up my sleep routine. I remember being stuck being awake all night not being able to wake up in the day time and not being able to sleep at night being like nocturnal. I used to
Hide it and be ashamed of my disorder but eventually I decided I have to be open about it because I needed friends and it seriously impacted my life, and people wouldn’t believe me, I was just met with hatred. I had to walk out of clinics because countless doctors refused to believe me.

Basically I couldn’t wake up in the morning sometimes unless I got like 10-12 hours of sleep and I absolutely couldn’t wake up I would set alarms and I would sleep through them I couldn’t control myself in the morning, I’ve lost jobs because I couldn’t wake up on time.

I also just couldn’t keep a normal schedule, my circadian clock would shift around the actual hour/clock.

I felt so much pain that I felt completely overwhelmed in so much pain just from not being able to wake up in the morning or keep a steady sleep schedule.

And then all of a sudden, it all just goes away in America? Like wtf is that. I sleep for like 5 hours in America and I wake up feeling fine. I wake up early in the morning.

And that’s another thing I often don’t feel like I’m rested enough like I never sleep well in Canada. I had a really bad nightmare as a kid. I have had dreams that have come true, premonitions. I was trapped inside a casket while still being alive, and I would toss and turn and try to move but I was just trapped there for a really long time unable to escape, the feeling was so bad. And that’s honestly how it always felt. It was so awful.

No, you are basically gaslighting me. I expected more from you. I don’t like repeating myself. I said it only went away in America. It would probably be the same in Europe. I have lived in different places.

You’re also saying it’s my body, I said it’s not fucking me. It’s not my body at all, it has something to do with Canada.

I have started doing composistion exercises. I was gonna make it daily, but I think I'm just going to do it semi frequently.
I have a spread sheet with counters. So it chooses Key, what instruments to use, chord progressions, if I make a new motif, reuse old motif, use other persons motif, time signature, voicing etc. So I can practice going through stuff with limitations and without a blank slate.

What are you trying to do, become a virtuoso? It’s not that hard to learn to play basic guitar, thus you have failed. And playing scales really fast is lame.
