I would recommend tabletop, wargaming, and board game groups in your area. Hit up a local card or comic shop and they probably would have leads, a lot of towns have meetup discords too. Tabletop attracts lots of weird interesting people who are starved for attention and companionship, and at least some of them are intelligent. If you pick the more fringe bits of the culture like historical military minifig gaming or whatever there is a very low rate of cultural pollution by normoids and femfags. There are still going to be a lot of sois, betas, trannoids, commies, etc, so you'll have to do some weeding.

Basically it is a great place for finding genuine people because nobody plays board games or paints orcs to be cool or show off, and the physical component of it means it can't be eaten by the internet and made totally depersonalizing.
