Gold miners have always struggled. I've never seen them give the great returns that all the "but muh gold miners!" chads pretend will happen any day now.

When the price of gold drops, they collapse. When the price of gold goes up, they somehow manage to lose money anyway. It's almost as if their managements are heavily manipulating their companies' profitabilities to drain the companies for the managements' own benefits.
