my rural hometown has 3 dollar stores in a 1 mile radius plus 1 new "DG Market" dollar grocery store. it's over. we'll be a 3rd world country by 2030.

Are they getting better in any way? I feel like we'll just have this, corner stores, Walmart, Amazon, food trucks, and unsustainable businesses ran by a family of immigrants with child labor but last a couple generations

That’s pretty insane to me. I haven’t been in one in over a decade and even back then they were laughably bad. Not even much cheaper a lot of the time and for laughably inferior products like bootleg sharpies called shorpie, and in general just a lot of useless trinkets. Who the fuck shops at these and why

Poor people, specifically those in either rural meth towns or those in the hoods of urban cities. The people shopping here likely don't live close enough to a walmart and/or have the money to pay the up front cost of a box that would technically save them money since it would be lower cost per item in said box, aka the boots theory.

As poverty increases so does dollar store popularity, welfare niggers also love the dollar stores
