more fraud and vectors to reach you with it. perhaps pair that with more desperation to make something happen. If he only have $32,000, he may have felt a lot of pressure to multiply that by 2-3x

>Leahy said the scammers called him pretending to work for Chase Bank, telling him his account had been compromised and he needed to move his money to a new, secure account for protection. The fraudsters sent him text messages and banking information that appeared authentic. "I couldn't even believe how sophisticated it was," Leahy said. The scheme happened quickly, leaving Leahy feeling violated and vulnerable. "It's been extremely violating," he said. "I've never had a situation like this where my personal identity, money and well-being have been at the forefront of being taken advantage of."
Ah, yes, the "sophisticated" New Dehli 8-PM special.

Considering most mutts live in debt, the average life savings is negative. 32k is not bad

It's because people don't understand the fraud protections they have on their money.
>if fraudsters drain your account, you're not liable unless you participated
>you can always just go to the bank and ask them if your account has all the money
>you should call the bank's number directly to confirm

None of these scams are ACTUALLY technically sophisticated. It's ALL just conjobs and high pressure tactics. Always disengage from that shit and go to your physical bank. If you actually got frauded, tell them to put money back in your account or you're lawyering up.
