If you are on any government disability, they can't garnish it. Additionally they can't bank levy your accounts that have those funds in there as well.

If you are working and dependent on an earned income, then that's the only reason I would be worried. Because the creditors lawyers will find out in their discovery and the judge is likely to garnish that.

I get rejected from apartments because my credit score is too low. A lot of car insurance companies also refuse to do business with me so I have to select from fewer companies. I haven't encountered this one, but in most states it's legal to deny a job offer to people with low credit even for non-finance jobs.

Thanks to a bunch of retarded lawsuits about the Biden SAVE plan and convenient timing of my last recertification, I've been making six figures since shortly after covid but haven't had to recertify my income and my next payment date is currently listed as December 2026.
