Is it worth holding alts? What stops you from going 100% BTC?

The goal of any alt holder is to make more money than they would if they held BTC, which is obviously a futile task.

IDK, maybe diversifying is a better idea. Even the Bitcoin holding companies like MSTR and Metaplanet did 20x and more. Bitcoin might even have reached saturation now, like every meme coin does at some point. Rheinmetall, Tesla, Nvidia, so many that were so much better.

Bitcoin is obsolete technology with no utility, it's merely a digital panopticon to surveil the masses. I believe in Monero as it's the antithesis to Bitcohen - it's what a cryptocurrency should be.

Is it futile if you just sell consistently when you're up and then buy back when they inevitably crash? Seems if you're disciplined, then you far outperform BTC gains. I mean, buy alts when it's btc season and then sell alts to BTC in alt season, rinse and repeat. i've never tried this but seems in theory the optimal strat

Yeah, but then how does anyone know what to buy? I know someone that went all in Apple and some other major tech stocks and he's still down from his initial entry and that's after checking his portfolio every day and stressing over the market conditions. I also know guys who bought things like AMD like 5 years ago and still haven't made any money, but they're still holding forever in case it becames an NVIDIA. That's maybe a decade of opportunity cost if it keeps crabbing.

Yeah, i guess just double down on the winner in a sector, but take profits when it's up and buy heavy after some market crash. Seems less stressful than betting on #2 for a decade and seeing it crabbed the whole time.

Of course it depends on what it is that you’re holding, for me I like micro caps, like OWO and more obscure stuff because of the potential, but some BTC should be in everybody’s portfolio

BTC is only worth it if you already have 8 figs and are okay with a 2~3x in the next 5 years.
ETH is a better hold if you're in 7 figs, with a 5~10x in the next 5 years. Or LINK if you're in 6 figs, for a 10x~30x in the next 5 years.

Poor people look at BTC and correctly think a 10x ROI over several years won’t change their situation. They look at alts and see 100x’s and 1000x’s historically. Simple as. They’re just going to stop investing altogether now that nothing will go up. Alt season has been indefinitely delayed because the fed won’t lower the rates
