I sell vintage collectibles on eBay and every now and then I've come by this super desireable product from 2003 that I've been able to sell for almost 3k.
But this time the guy I bought from got mad when he realized that I'm making bank with his item. He's a former employee of the company and has like a garage full of these products, and now he's been dumping them on eBay for about 500 bucks for the whole year. He got so fucking mad that he made it his mission to nuke all my attempts to charge 3k for them, making sure their street value would now be cemented at 500.
Not just that, but nobody actually wants them anymore now that a surprise find of a garage full of them was brought into day light. They don't seem that scarce anymore.
You don't get how bad luck this is from my perspective. I had a sure thing going, I could buy these for almost nothing from eBay-unaware former employees of the company and get almost 3k every time with very little effort.
