Get rid of all social security, letting the boomers die, the nationalizing healthcare which would save everyone money in the long run. Keep 10% Tariffs and making the EU spend on defense. Cut all money to Israel. Easy things

Drastically reduce military spending, say by 50% like Trump floated out before ramping it the fuck up. It's nothing but entangling alliances and endless wars for either Israel or Europe, and ultimately an easier sell (although still a very difficult one).

Next, gut the bureaucratic nanny state so businesses can actually operate freely. The resulting increase in productivity might make it slightly easier to touch social security and other entitlement programs (social security definitely the big one tho) because people won't be as worried about grandma starving to death. Ultimately both of these are longshots, but you have to go after military and entitlements or you're just rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic.

Of course, all this assumes I can't just return the US to sound money and unilaterally nuke the system because idgaf about reelection.

My understanding was there were massive military expenditures in the bill he's trying to push through, and his saber-rattling over Iran does not inspire confidence. Plus, I really don't think most of our "defense" spending is coming from paying soldiers.

That said, there's been so much frothing at the mouth over the bill on all sides, so I wouldn't be too shocked if that was hearsay/propaganda.

FY26 Budget Request
FY26 Budget Request
md5: 3cbe7f37e80206a463e5535908b076de🔍
>>60530480
At the start of the year Hegseth was talking about making an ~8% cut to the DoD budget every year for the duration of Trump's term, but Trump's budget request to Congress (because really they're (supposed to be) responsible for the budget) has a 13% increase instead. And a substantial portion of that is going to meme vanity projects like the gold dome and the F-47, it doesn't account at all for the expense of even a short air war with Iran.
>>60530522
>I really don't think most of our "defense" spending is coming from paying soldiers.
At a glance personnel were about a quarter of the overall DoD budget for FY25. The DoD employs millions of people though so 90k would be a drop in the bucket out of that.

because private healthcare is a scam. i work in corporate at a major pbm. medicare part d mandates 100% rebate passthrough. commercial clients get scammed with rebate capture and fees on fees on fees, in addition to deliberately opaque pricing.

only retards think private healthcare is more efficient. the most efficient system would be a total elimination of private suppliers (including my job). it's middle men on middle men on middle men.

Insurance wouldn't be a problem if it worked as it's supposed too, as a casino where you bet when you're gonna die. It was the pre existing condition law that forced them to turn into redistribution schemes, because now they are legally forced to take bad bets with negative ev and spread the cost amongst the other gamblers

Cull society of the extremely aged (72+), the crippled (quads, the blind, the deaf), the retarded (downies, mongoloids, autists, epileptics, dwarves/midgets), the obese (anyone over 350 pounds for a man, or 260 pounds for a woman), and then cull the criminal class (anyone that has more than one felony conviction, or a pattern of misdemeanors)

Healthcare will continue to grow as a percentage of GDP because the industry isn't getting more efficient as quickly as others. There will be more nurses and fewer programmers and factory workers in the future. We shouldn't be paying for all that through the government. I would end Medicare, Medicaid and ACA subsidies, expand Social Security to the point where it's a UBI program (but with the elderly still receiving much more), double income taxes and increase corporate income taxes. It's fine if the Treasury wants to use more tricks to keep interest rates down, as well.

The government is currently a more efficient health insurance administrator than the big private companies. (But consider that the IRS handles collections and GSA helps out and so on.) The government is also better at standing up to providers and keeping costs down, though that money partly comes out of providers' R&D spending. I think with deregulation, the private sector would probably do better with the first issue and about the same with the second. I think that's fine.

the government doesn't administrate medicare part d. claims adjudication and formulary management are all outsourced to companies like my employer. i assume medicare health insurance is the same. if they administered itself on a single, unified system and negotiated directly with drug manufacturers and hospital networks things could be even more efficient.

Buyout social security as much as possible. Cut social security from anyone who hasnt paid in. No cost of living adjustments. Close out all mil bases except in western hemisphere (N and S America). Cut tariffs on Canada and Mexico if they reciprocate. Every other country 47.5% minimum. Phase out entitlements within one presidential term. Fire Elon. Sunset on H1B- again, one presidential term. Fast track Central American citizenship if provable skills and clean criminal record. Cap the number of immigrants to 250,000/ yr. Heavily weighted to European natives and Central/ South American natives. Few SEA and ME. Eliminate income tax, raise interest rates to 20%. Abolish central bank and take the credit hit. Eliminate entire pickle factory and pickle factory workers that dont self deport get sent to Guantanamo. Drill for oil, dig for coal. Setup Golden Dome missile defense. Encourage nuclear energy. No subsidies for solar or wind. Post of nasty girls in every sanctuary city until public trials end with hangings where appropriate. Teach the Bible in all schools, shut down any school that resists. Within 10 years will be the zenith of America's Golden Age.

The main problem is just that people in the government and civilians just don't care. The politicians are just going to get paid to support whatever dogshit they get paid to and people will do nothing about it. I forgot if it was medicaid or medicare one of those aren't even allowed to negotiate for better prices they would get sued if they didn't just buy the drugs at a massively hiked up rate. How long did it take for insulin which only cost a couple of dollars to make and people need to live take to get regulated to an affordable price
