sadly linkedin is kind of important. it shows the hr women that people like you and that you aren't a weirdo. for example if you post an accomplishment and there is 0 engagement their brain questions subconsciously "why isn't anybody saying congrats or good job? why is nobody proud of him?".

This is my biggest fear. Also why I don't have an Instagram account. I just finished first year of law school and it's SO awkward telling people I don't have an account. Should I make an Instagram account?

Im just worried about having a low follower count, as sad as that may be. What is considered a respectable amount of followers to have? Sometimes I see girls with like 800 followers and I'm like holy fuck I could never reach those numbers. I'm thinking like 400 is the minimum number I'd want to hit but god damn that's a tall order.

But the thing is, they won't explicitly ask why you have a low follower count. They'll see the number and immediately think to themselves, oh this guy is a loser, he only has x number of followers. They won't directly ask you, they'll just assume. I'm torn between being that weirdo without social media or being that loser with low number of followers without any cool photos. It sucks. What should I do?

serious advice drop out of law school and learn a trade. the number of lawyers employees will be cut in half in the next 5 years. my work, a mid sized company that employes about 10 in legal just green lite a project for 2 million dollars to cut that number by 2 by the end of 2026 and half by Q2 2027

I never post anything on LinkedIn. I don't think I've ever even liked a post other than maybe if a coworker I like gets a promotion or something. I just use it so recruiters can easily see my qualifications and can reach out to me, and to see who's hiring in a centralized location. Obviously I can't run the counterfactual to see how many more offers I'd be getting if I actually engaged with the site more, but it hasn't seemed to impact me so far.

OP, I'd generally say you really ought to have one, but I wouldn't worry about posting this or that about synergy and B2B marketing or whatever.
