It does unfortunately seem to be true that the average American lives way better. 2,500 SQFT house, aircon, separate room for washing machine, walk in closet, ford f150, iPhone, MacBook, getting takeaway constantly, stone counters in the kitchen. Even stuff like the grinder under the sink or the fridge having a cold water dispenser supplied by a pipe being really normal/common things.

All this is completely standard in the US for average people like plumbers or teachers whereas in the UK only highly skilled professionals like doctors could afford to live like that. You've got to work so much harder for the same result and it just sucks.
