Will the US debt crisis be a nothingburger?

there isn't any

it's not a nothngburger on the longrun
because servicing the debt requires more
and that has interest rate consequences that impact the creation of money, by banks and by the FED loans
fiat is, in theory, already dead
but it goes "deader" as this keeps going

It's one of the few actual disaster scenarios america faces. all countries want us bonds and dollars, and they will ignore the warning signs right up until it's basically a full-on economic crash. At that point, the world moves on from pax americana. Despite my hatred of 90% of yanks, the world is better under the USA than china. so the us debt is absolutely a problem
