So I'm stuck in Argentina running out of cash, and I'm trying to trade BTC for some of the local fiat. The "cambios" (currency exchanges) all tell me they will only accept USDT, not BTC.

With no way to get an exchange account in this country, how do I convert BTC to a reasonably equivalent amount of USDT?

I bet I was in "crypto" before you were. Just hodling instead of losing all my money on trading.

This sounds like a great way to enrich the local economy. Unfortunately I want to enrich myself.

Thanks, this is looking workable. Any recommended wallet for USDT? I have Metamask installed but it would be nice to have something simpler with just ETH and USDT options.

Also, I'm definitely not an immigrant, just a tourist.

Do you just use the MacOS version? The website says it's only for Mac and Windows.

gosh dont use simpleswap they will try and kyc ur ass at any opportunity. use ff.io - best in the biz and lowest fees. fast too. make sure you pick (presumably eth) the erc20 usdt, since they offer multiple networks.

Most cuevas here in Argentina only trade usdt for fiat (usd or argie pesos, whatever your choice) . You'll need to download an exchange app and do KYC my friend (binance, bitso, or fucking Lemon) and transfer some BTC there, and then convert it to USDT. Bitso have a spot market for BTC/USDT and bots running all day at 0.10%. If you don't want to do a KYC maybe download BingX in your phone, no KYC needed but in that case transfers are limited to 50k usdt a day. You can get an account with only an email
