So they will have to assess the spillover statistics of a Fartcoin crash to Bitcoin and to the housing market. We live in enlightened times.

No idea. I posted this here hoping someone smarter would explain. I think it means you can buy mortgages using crypto as collateral or something???

Yes. So it means that after a crash of Fartcoin, you will have to provide other collaterals, or you will lose your house.

If they go through with that without maximum damage control, like allowing only 10% of all assets to be crapto or something, this is the most unhinged news of this year (which began with the President of the United States scamming his voters with a meme coin).

Their names are very close to the britbong fanny mac thing where bongette women were shoving fries or burgers into their vaginas/underwear to bring into clubs without bouncers knowing and then the taste becoming indentifiable and popular so McDonalds in the UK specifically started selling a Fanny Mac leading to all the jokes about Burger Cunt and the Big Flopper.

Not as collateral per se - but as evidence of affordability from what I can gather; its another step in the direction of integration of cryptoassets into the analogue economy - and it is significant as a result. Once we get banks themselves told they can count this stuff as highly liquid risk-weighted assets for their capitalization rules (Basel IV etc) then - then it gets really exciting. Still a ways off that though.

Everyone in here is retarded. It means you can qualify for more and/or better mortgages because crypto has to be recognized as part of your wealth. Lenders don't like lending to poors.

Banks used to disregard any bitcoin assets you had in qualifying for a mortgage. Now they're willing to use that money to determine your creditworthiness. It's not a huge deal but it's a good change - an important step toward legitimizing crypto.

It means that it will now be much easier for a cabal of people to get mortgages for all of its members, who are struggling and wouldn't be approved otherwise.
The scheme is simple:
- the cabal piles crypto into the account of a family trying to get a mortgage
- after their mortgage is approved, crypto gets transferred to the next struggling family in line
- when everyone gets a mortgage, crypto is returned to the original owners
This window dressing was possible before, but it was a very involved process. Crypto makes it fully digital and effortless.

well, given what saylor has stated many times and is taken to be general knowledge, the outsized valuations of assets like equities and real estate are based on the fact they can be collateralized. it's the ice cube problem. so now apply that to btc operating as perfect collateral.

not sure about that. total size of usa real estate is 50 trillion, so don't think btc will move it much generally but perhaps introducing new marginal demand in nyc & LA may prop up prices. i see it as a chance for big boys to essentially grab free real estate & btc as treasury pumps btc. btc will be levered against via MBS. this is my naive layman's take.

and i suppose that would also imply that we'll see more btc bought with collateralized real estate and equities. so btc begins to eat the 50 trillion in real estate.

>based

as an ancient dinosaur who has been on the imageboard 4chan.org since 2007 and have purchased several homes.

Yeah, you have to sell your bitcoin and put the money in the bank for a while to qualify for a mortgage. With this you can just show them your bitcoin and they will accept it.

One time a lender accepted Coinbase screenshots, and transaction history plus bank statements but at the last minute they backed out and asked me to produce the cash. Very annoying.

Anyways. Buying a house makes zero sense financially. I would only ever buy a house to live in if I wanted/needed to stay in that house for 5-10 years minimum. Otherwise preserve your options and your cash. Stack sats forever.

One day you will be able to post 100M sats in a escrow wallet. Hold one of the keys and get the prime mortgage rate for your house.
