You think landlord is evil when we provide shelter against crackheads and criminals on the street for a small price, try to live on street and stop hiding in basement.

>blaming the symptom and not the cause
Why do you think there is so much leverage in the first place?
You're the one supporting central banking and fractional reserve banking.

That's like saying farmers hog resources.
Landlord capital investment is what built 35% of the housing stock in the country.

Dude stfu

Im sick of you faggots defending yourselves as if you aren't literally the cause.

>B-but if we didn't do it, people would not have a place to live, our speculative investment pays for new builds :-D

Fucking retard, if you cunts werent speculating on property, a $1M house would be $300k, because there would not be all your speculative buy pressure.

The person who cant afford $1M for a home, would be able to afford $300k, but 100,000 property investors in the city max bidded the price up to $1M for speculative purposes....and the only people who can afford to bid against speculative investors...are people who are well off....

AND NO, it hasn't always been like this, this shit didn't even really begin in the the 2000s, from after WW2 to the 1990s, home prices were like 2-3X the annual income, now they're 10-15X... why? BECAUSE PROPERTY INVESTORS ARE BIDDING EVERYTHING UP

>you aren't literally the cause.
Lol why is rent so cheap in Japan and South Korea then? They have just as many landlords as here?
Imagine being so utterly braindead you think "greed" alone is what determines prices.
What an absolute useful idiot you are.
>if you cunts werent speculating on property,
Where do you think the funds for the speculation came from, moron? Did it just magic itself into existence or does the majority of newly printed money go into the housing market?

>BECAUSE PROPERTY INVESTORS ARE BIDDING EVERYTHING UP
Because the supply of mortgage debt printed into existence has gone up exponentially you idiot.
If this didn't happen, speculators would be pushing prices down

Also zoning and regulations are to blame but that's a different story.
Funny how rents have gone down in Texas cities

The fact of the matter if there wasn't millions of speculators bidding on property then home values would not be 10-15X annual income, they would be the historical 2-3X before people got on the property investor bandwagon.

The main difference between 1950 - 2000 and 2000 - 2025 is the amount of property investors have gone from a handful of people, to millions of retail investors picking up an extra 2-3 properties.

>UUUUHHHHHHHH IF WE JUST PUT PRICE CONTROLS TO COVER UP THE RETARDED POLICIES WE CREATED EVERYTHING WOULD HAVE BEEN A-OK
Lol okay so again, the original cause is government money printing through central banking and fractional reserve banking also zoning laws and building regulations.

You really think Japan doesn't have price speculators on housing?
A speculator can raise prices all he wants, it doesn't mean people are going to buy what he is selling. Learn what supply and demand is, you economic illiterate manchild.

>to millions of retail investors picking up an extra 2-3 properties.
It's almost as if government creates a bubble, people want to buy more of that good. Why do you think stocks and crypto are so high?

A good landlord is a blessing, shit breaks and it's not my problem. My family sold their house, and when I visited the new owners to get some old mail, he told me that the pipes had just broke and flooded the entire basement. This is after they had already agreed to 20K above the negotiated price. Felt bad for the guy but thank god we avoided that pain in the ass.

Literally yes you fucking retard. You don't even know where money comes from.

The housing "crisis" could easily be solved with rules on lending (money creation) for established house purchases and stopping infinite third world immigration. The fact that it remains unsolved is evidence that it's like this on purpose.
