Maybe cyclic industry companies trying a little stunt: Buy it with excess money at the top of their cycle, hope for a crash before the end of the year, avoid taxes, wait for it to recover in three years, then use it to cover the losses of the cyclic industry. But this is highly risky, only desperado companies in tax prisons (50%+) would risk that.
