Their CEO presented the Robinhood chain and tokenized assets on it's chain and app. Robinhood chain will be a permissionless L2. https://robinhood.com/us/en/blockchain/

During this presentation he showcased tokenized OpenAI & SpaceX stocks, using arbitrum https://x.com/TrustlessState/status/1939710544942071923. Looks like the service will start on arbitrum than eventually move to it's own L2.

You mean the platform that forcibly close users' positions when a stock becomes too (((volatile))))? Yeah they will be immensely popular with the crypto community.

Post hands, jeet shill.

The press release says the assets will have cross-chain capabilities, wonder if it'll use CCIP or Wormhole. Both have Arbitrum chain access. Did they say anything about that?

Also nice to see tradfi continue to adopt ETH

This. NEVER forget how Robinhood scammed thousands of people from becoming wealthy by disabling their ability to buy GME.

NEVER use Robinhood. I wouldn't be surprised if they were directed by a certain people to disable buying GME.

personally i think they learned from their mistakes, they do give out crypto wallets on their app and you do get to own the keys. sure they aren't perfect and it's still a centralized service at the end of the day, but it's a step in the right direction.

it's permissionless though, you can see all activity and see if they make any changes you disagree with, and if they do you can just swap your money out of that chain. not really sure something with that much freedom can be considered a scam. doesn't mean it's a good chain by any means but scam implies that it doesn't work or is hiding info from the user.

They saved shorts from getting even more decimated. Melvin capital was down 50% or something insane at one point, they would have gotten liquidated had there been no intervention.

(I didn't write this, from Quora) When you place an order on Robinhood, it goes through a company called Citadel Securities. Citadel Securities is owned by Citadel LLC. It serves as a market maker for Robinhood (every brokerage has a MM). Without a market maker Robinhood couldn't exist.

Earlier THIS MONTH (January 2021), Ken Griffin, **THE CEO** of Citadel LLC, invested $2.75 billion into a company called Melvin Capital.

Melvin Capital is an investment management firm. Their primary strategy is shorting the market. They were one of the biggest short-sellers of GameStop, and now they are going into bankruptcy because of Wallstreet Bets.

The CEO of the company that created the market for robinhood was directly impacted when his short positions through Melvin Capital shot up in value. Today, Robinhood blocked the purchasing of GameStop shares, and only gave the option to hold or sell your position of GameStop and other positions shorted by Melvin Capital after they lost millions (or even billions) of dollars. This effectively caused a crash in those respective stocks. That is a DIRECT conflict of interest, and it is STEALING, plain and simple.

Turns out the funny thing is that 90% of robinhood owners are actually various investment firms and hedge funds. Vlad Tenev and the Indian owns like only 10% and they act as frontmen.

I'm pretty sure that decision came from those investment firms.

If the price got too high the hedge funds that shorted it would’ve been forced to buy everyones bags.
Too bad for the baggies it was revealed that everyhing is rigged from the start.

It has gathered too much negative shitcoiner energy. It's literally pump and dump schemes in the open.
