Is it better to be likable or capable at your job? No middle ground here, because that would be too easy of an answer.

Honestly likeable. I got a supervisor job because my manager liked me. Being capable only matters if youโ€™re an extremely niche technical expert where you can afford to be an autistic retard because your skills are so valuable

Likeable times 1000.
And not in general. Specifically to whoever currently holds the keys to power.
Especially if you're a white man who checks no boxes.
Because 9/10 when you're a white man, they are hiring you to be part of the maybe 10% of people at the company who actually have to work in the unwritten, unspoken, current order of things, you'd have to be insanely likeable to escape this slave caste.
The rest of the 90% of a corporate office exists to fill quotas and keep women from reproducing.
So you have to be so damn charismatic that some jew would put the kalergi plan on hold just because he'd like to have a beer with you

I think it kind of depends on the department. There is no stronger plot armor than simply being the best at what you do in any given area though. They simply can't get rid of you and they know it, you know it. Endless "likeable" people will be laid off before The Guy.

Unless you own the business or you're responsible for managing it, then likable is the answer. If it's your money or your career on the line if shit doesn't get done, then capable is the answer.

There's very little chance for real promotion in the modern corporate world thanks to most small businesses being destroyed so there's no point in showing loyalty to a major corporation. They're just going to hire some H-1B fagot on the other side of the world or replace you with AI in a few years anyway.

likable.

i was capable at my last job and had a good relationship with my boss, but we werent really on the same wavelength because she was a girlboss and im a borderline autistic chud. i didnt get promoted despite being very good at my job (accounting).

i got a new job where my boss is a fellow sperg. he hired me as a promotional job hop and then i was promoted again 2 years later.

Likeable for yourself
It is better for the company and your coworkers to be capable so they aren't constantly having to fix your shit

Having an incompetent but likeable person whose messes you are cleaning up always promoted above you means you need to gtfo of your current job asap

I'm capable but a social retard, I'm currently high in a VP's esteem and in fact I am constantly bailing this faggot out of messes he gets in due to his poor understanding of technology. This makes me practicaly untouchable to large parts of the organization but they seethe at my status. The VP is a boomer who doesnt care what I do until I'm useful. The second I make a bad call he will turn on me and it will be time to bail.

But for now I literally do what I want, the guy who is formally my boss is just a stooge and I ignore him, I act as if my job is fully remote (it isn't) and just don't go to the office. Been doing this for 3 years now.

Nothing about her really looks 'wrong' persay, shes not fat, doesnt have obvious tatts/piercings, dyed hair. But anyone who uses social media daily is a massive red flag and bound to blow up their marriage. I dont think people realize how the second a woman makes a social media account she instantly gets propositioned by thousands of men all over the globe (mostly india). They cant help this going to their head

Charisma is king, meritocracy has been a rotting corpse for centuries. Unless you have some sort of talent or skill that puts you in the freakish top .001% in some critical field, being likable is the only thing that matters. Genuinely talented, skilled, loyal people are passed up constantly in favor of the guy who buys donuts for his boss everyday and is incredibly good at water cooler conversation, it's a big part of why the western world is in the state that it's in right now, and why so many companies are falling apart at the seams.
