>Rubic
The Summer of Rubic... the summer that never was. As a newfag, /biz/ popped my cherry with that scam - I'll never forget it.

I remember screaming in the threads about how it was going to zero, and everyone ignored me. Same for Statera, which was a coin made by some Nigerian called Abu Bakr and was very popular here in 2020.

Apu is the Rubic of this run.

Rubic was the Statera of last run.

My first scam was Orb3 (utter shitcoin) and I lost money on it. An anon told me that I 'exist to get dumped on' when I said I bought it. In retrospect, I learned from it and I've made quite a bit of money since then.

If you've been here long enough you undoubtedly lost money on something. Crypto hasn't been too friendly to most of us, anon. Just because millionaires are minting left and right doesn't mean the majority of cases are winners. Almost every crypto chart looks like shit, and the market as a whole is completely marked by VERY short bursts of parabolic increases followed by VERY short parabolic decreases and then long periods of nothing. Since most coins are just scams, the majority only get to do this once, MAYBE twice before never seeing another real run again as they get replaced by the next season of scams.

This is why the big brain move is to look for things which have survived multiple runs due to fundamentals & real adoption and not think too much about price. If it stands the test of time, it will pay great dividends, as we are unironically still very early in the crypto journey.

This is the Orb thread, hilarious and worth a read.
Essentially someone found out you can reset the stake-lock timer for other people's wallets due to the dev being a retard that can't code.

Whales got reset forever while small wallets made it out with their money.

It was at the time of the first Smart "Con", when Link touched $20 for the first time. Also the time that UNI was launched, and everyone that had ever used Uniswap before September 2020 received 400 free UNI in their wallet. I was 2 days too late for that lmao.

2020 /biz/ wasn't that bad.

Even in 2020/2021 the performance of /biz/ was generally poor.

SHIB was shilled here for the first time (<1m marketcap), among a sea of other shitcoins, so it was never really discussed. I remember dumping 1 ETH on SHIB and moving the price lmao. Shame I didn't hold.

For the rest, /biz/ generally missed out on the big movers of the 2020/2021 cycle, and was especially late in the BSC chink casino. Instead it focused on scams like DEXG and Statera that never went anywhere, because it wanted to buy "serious coins".

All the information worth having was and is unfortunately on Xitter. Shitcoins are moved by cabals in telegram groups that push them to X/Instagram, and if you're not a cabal coin (MOG, Popcat, etc), you're not going to make it, no matter how good the meme is. This is also the tragic story of APU. It was a biz initiative, but never got support from crypto twitter, so it died a painful death.

Missing Shib is legit one of the top regrets of my life. Every day I think about how different my life would be right now if I just bought a tiny amount in late 2020 or early 2021. Apu could have had the same potential but basically everything that could have gone wrong with it, did. Everything is so hyper-gamified and PVP'd now, I don't think we're ever going to see anything like Shib ever again.

I think both sound picks. We're still in clown market territory so no saying what near term brings, the price action for most things likely won't make any sense, but USA is trying to push regulation through at warp speed which is effectively going to kill off scams and the legit projects will rise to the top. XMR is tricky because it's purposeful but govs won't like it, but I agree there is a sound foundation there.

nobody was taking memecoins even remotely seriously when SHIB launched. The whole ethos was "we'll be the next DOGE" when everyone was talking about what an absolute shitcoin DOGE was. Can't beat yourself up over that shit.

Yeah, I don't think it would go how you imagine it.
What SHIB was first shilled here, it was exactly the same as a pajeet scam. No soul, no community, no nothing. I bought for 1k at sub 1m marketcap, sold it at 2m marketcap two hours later, the coin cratered the day after and stayed like that for weeks. It was subsequently mostly forgotten on biz, before it was picked up by twitter. When SHIB spam started again on biz, it was already at 500m marketcap, and no one thought it could go any higher. Everyone thought other dogs were better plays.

APU had a good meme, but the team was incompetent, their memes were shit, and they didn't manage to onboard any crypto twitter personality. So it's now on track to go to zero.
