When kids are at school I night be open to her working, but my first child at age 2 destroys every peer when it comes to language development and independence. Most women I work with say they wish they could have done this.
My wife is never going to be making much when she does work. She's the sweetest woman in the world but not able to focus on much outside of cooking and health.
I have family where they both work and I'm the end have less than us take home. I've got a great job that is currently still very flexible in WFH, though they're trying to take that away.
Paying off the mortgage earlier would be nice, doing some more improvements to the place would be nice, but I've got everything I want.
I'm proud you're being fiscally responsible and planning for the future, you're doing great. Just remember to have a family.
Plus if you're working corporate, remember you could always go part time or compressed hours.
