Alts simply don't pump like back in 2021 anymore. You'll see alts do a 2-3x like in May and December and then Bitcoin will DUMP in August and kill all momentum right before it seems like something is about to happen.

We had 2 bullrun cycles, that's 8 years, of clown market due to shitcoins. People even bought pic related, for real. Shitcoins made real alts stop climbing exponentially as they used to in 2016. People were just chasing the next shitcoin, forgetting serious alts, and of course, shitcoins are gambling. They are fool's investment, people only lost money there.

After 2 bullrun cycles of just losing money in alts, people wised up, and are no longer buying shitcoins. The altcoin market is not going up - but it's not crashing either. Suddenly, last year, this year, we are seeing old, fundamental alts pulling 20%, 40% in a day. Then they retrace a bit, but they don't crash

The tl;dr, is that people exited the clown market and stupid alts, they are slowly buying back into real alts that never rugpull to zero.. and suddenly, at some point this year, we will have a huge alt market that nobody was expecting (except intelligent people like me who perceive things )

Honestly there was an alt season though. From about June 2023 to April 2024 Altcoins like Avax, Aero, Maker, Eth etc. all ran hard. I don't know what happened after April 2024 to make BTC decouple so hard while alts just floundered and floundered. Maker went from 600 bucks to 4100 bucks, Aero from 2 cents to 2.50, eth from 1000 to 4000, avax from 10 bucks to 60 bucks etc.
