even $8,000 was too much for average people to care, Once Bitcoin left the low 4 figs regular people stopped caring. There isn't a single person I know irl that even speaks about Bitcoin or cares that it exists, for a while lots of regular folks spoke about altcoins though.

A couple years ago when BTC was trading under $25k, I overheard one of my coworkers telling another that he knows somebody with a whole bitcoin. As if that was incredibly hard to obtain. Dumbass, we all earn six figures.
