I get the dollar collapsing, that's a given. But why is the Euro rising? The dollar is even rising against the Yen and Japan has a way better future than Europe. Is there a more stagnant region? I can think of 0 positive things happening in Europe or places there I'd like to go, it seems like hell.

people are diversifying by buying euro assets because europe seems more stable than the US right now, the fact it mostly trades with itself means it's not going to suddenly collapse even with the tariffs, and the war in ukraine is almost done by now, russia is so fucked they will go 1990s again before the end of the year

A stronger euro dollar in a lot of cases leaves domestic production and personal investment at beholden to government taxation. You guys have a service based economy that doesnt manufacture many things, along with extreme taxation that goes to the government makes it look stronger on paper.

Benefits of higher euro
>cheaper imports
>more social programs
>government fiscal intervention
Cons of a higher euro
>lack of domestic manufacturing
>lack of personal finances
>lower wages across the board

A higher or lower value currency really doesn't matter, it just depends on what your government's economic policy is. A weaker US dollar allows for more exports which in turns brings more revenue for the US. A stronger euro dollar allows for cheaper american imports but relies more on those cheaper imports.
