Does marijuana really remove your potential to be successful in life? No funny answers now, I want specifics on why it can lead to a life of stagnation and waste. I work in a high level technical field as a systems administrator and I love picking up the bong weed after work but I do see his point.
>be me 27 year old
>very fit and has a bench press of 250lbsx10
>has a systems administrator degree and uses it
>makes 70k per year, rent is 800 per month, working from home SMOKING DA GREEN STICKY
>very little debt
>spends 100 bucks a month on DA WEED
Any thoughts?

>successful in life?
Is being a wanted criminal banging 2/10 goblinas in the carrabean before dying in a spanish prison cell success?
>>60622159Entertaining to watch but couldn't be me.
>>60622104 (OP)you spend more than $100/ month on weed. Monkey on your back at first downturn. Youll feed the monkey before feeding your soul. Leave the haze behind while youre young. Clarity is the prize.
>>60622159if that was his best, imagine how much better if he wasnt a degenerate?
>>60622104 (OP)>I work in a high level technical field as a systems administrator and I love picking up the bong weed after work but I do see his pointSysop stopped being sold as 'high level technical field' in 05, 2010 for 'non high levels', trying to sell yourself up 20 years after the title has deflated tells me everything I ever needed to know about you. You're good bonghead, you can keep hitting the pipe, those extra brain cells? You won't need them.
>>60622104 (OP)If weed leads to a life of failure then why is most of the world (non-Americans) so poor? None of them are allowed to legally smoke weed and know even less about making money on the stock market/cryto than the average American who has access to weed.
>>60622188Probably way wealthier, and the US would probably have a more serious outlook on cybersecurity.
>>60622104 (OP)>Does marijuana really remove your potential to be successful in life? Yeah probably. There's plenty of successful people that smoke (as do every drug) but reality is you start looking at people who smoke and also smoke a lot and it's clearly filled with way more losers.
>I want specifics on why it can lead to a life of stagnation and waste.Gee whiz why would people being high all the time and who value spending their time being high not accomplish that much?
Like this isn't rocket science. Stoners get incredibly butt blasted when you bring up the fact that people are generally more degenerate and less accomplished the more they smoke, but, come on.
Best part about the video are the comments, a bunch o bong heads saying he's right lool. Not that it matters but the science backs this up for 30+ years now.
He's right about everything
>>60622293I might switch careers but definitely comfy working from home making good money atm
Comfy
It's just a drug, and one of the most benign and least habit forming ones of the bunch. But like any drug it can ruin your life. People who smoke weed every single day and treat it like it's not a problem are delusional. If a drinker drank as much as a stoner smoked they would be 200 pounds overweight and on death's door. It's just that weed has relatively few side effects that people can abuse the shit out of it and feel like they're still winning.
That being said it's also a powerful medicine if you really have something inflammatory going on. Alcohol doesn't have the same benefit. Very few things do in general except like fish oil, which isn't as fun.
Also if you're content with making 70k/yr as a 27 year old you're clearly pacified by weed. That's barely over the national average. Making less than 90k as a man is a disgrace.
>marijuana makes you believe you are having great thoughts and great ideas while you sit on a couch growing a beard
damn. that hits home. weed is such a fucking crutch to me. before i get high, i race home from work to smoke, "just need a hit to get the ball rolling" one hit becomes a full blunt throughout the night, lose myself in music, play vidya, eat a whole pizza, look at the clock and realize the whole day has evaporated almost instantly in hindsight. while i'm stoned I feel like a creative god, exploring all these unique creative ideas or stories never before seen, while i do nothing to bring them to fruition, just fantasize about that "one day, tomorrow-- i'll start" every damn day. fuck its such a curse. a beautiful enthralling captivation with the teeth of a leper. writing this completely sober, as i crave a puff, after spiraling out in an argument with my wife, brought upon by frustrated manic weed-withdrawals. perhaps today i'll pass this joint.
>>60622349It might be better to weigh the median salary for my local area because the average can include a few uncommon positions that are paid multi 6 figure salaries
>>60622104 (OP) https://youtube.com/shorts/pmAA7ZNqlgs
>>60622366>median salary for my local areaThen what the hell are you doing in loserville? Go somewhere you can make some real money
>>60622349Also wage slaving and especially doing it to perfection to earn more is as unmanly as it gets.
>>60622443I graduated college after covid and found the perfect job that still lets me working from home. My rent is 780 per month and the office is a block away too. Im just saving up at moment because im still under 3 years at my current one. Get a few more certifications and then i can figure out where to live down the road.
>or you could move into the bay area where mass layoffs happens and your rent is 3000 per month but atleast youre making above the national average!70k per year as a single man with no car payments, cheap rent, and my student loans are getting paid off sooner due to excess capital.
If i moved i would have to get a used car and pay monthly on insurance, gas, and maintenance in order to just survive. Thats also about 300 per month in capital at the minimum down the drain
>>60622181this
smoked heavy for like 15 years, wish i quit sooner. definitely burned a few iq points away
overall its really quite unpleasant once you're used to being sober. the amount of money i could have saved also is pretty absurd, compounding effects from throwing it into crypto when i went all in would have been substantial by now.
>>60622135>>60622135Say what you want, those goblinas give it up good for the White gringo stick...
>>60622345>most benign and least habit forming ones of the bunchThis is exactly what makes it dangerous. People understandably think it's no big deal, which is why so many people spend all day frying their dopamine receptors with it.
>it's also a powerful medicine if you really have something inflammatoryAspirin reduces inflammation even more
It also cures cancer better than cannabis
That's why big pharma replaced it with more toxic naproxen and ibuprofen
>>60622349If you need six figures to live comfortably and securely...you might be an insecure fag
>>60622441I like this explanation. Marijuana cushions you from the good and bad consequences of life. When youre at a low point marijuana helps stabilizes people at the risk of also deadening the positive impacts of learning from being at your lowest. In order for people to grow they have to be comfortable with the uncomfortable. Ive seen it happen to people where it stunts their true potential by shielding them in a glass box. If youre completely dependant on weed youll never break out of that glass box you've put on yourself.
The best part is that glass box can be broken by yourself or some external factor. All it takes is discipline and hard work to break the glass and achieve a higher level of existing. Its really a trap people empose on themselves that can be easily shattered.
>>60622554Its a good job that pays well and not everyone can do it
>>6062256890% of the people I know smoke weed.
90% of those people that smoke weed are retarded and lazy. Only about 10% of them are successful and hardworking.
>>60622224Ill even add in that theyve been saying IT administration has been going away for 20 years or so but theyre still in high demand as well. The core concept is still the same even if the world evolves into cloud computing, which all that needs to happen is training to work in a cloud infrastructure environment, the core concepts are still there.
Youre always going to need a few admins around regardless, every minute of down time can cost a company 9000 dollars.
I'm quitting once I finish what I have. it absolutely makes you lazier, and it loses any benefits the longer you do it, but the cost is the worst part. If it was free, I wouldn't give a shit
>>60622574Maybe thats just a logical fallacy, maybe they were fuck ups to begin with
>>60622650taper off so the sleep and appetite side effects are minimal
>>60622339Then quit this shit anon. You can do it once in a while if you can manage that, but the long play here if you truly want to move up the career later or money later is to quit.
>t.experienced polyaddict (meaning I used all kinds of shit like a total degen for a long time) with tech experience and mad skills in math, yes fuckers a methhead can be a math wiz too...
>>60622737>career later or money later is to quit.See anon? That's the drugs man, can even blame that one on the spell checker loool
>>60622560Lmfao you poor poor retard
>>60622779>>60622760The only people i see that are requiring to live off six figures are the ones who have bad financial management skills. Maybe in Manhattan theres an argument for that.
If your goal is six figures so you can become financially independent then you also have a point
Didn't he die? I remember the coin called wacked and the memo that he was not suicidal
>>60622825Urbanites overpay for rent so six figures is the bare minimum to split a 2 bedroom with a roommate. 70k a year and pays 800 a month for rent is good. There’s a lot of people on here who fell for the live in NYC or Boston meme
>>60622645IT administration just has a new name. They call themselves “cloud engineers” or “devops engineers” now because they administer their company through a web browser and powershell scripts rather than on premises servers, but it’s basically the same exact job
>>60622224autistic tech faggots are so obsessed with job titles as if you can’t just swap it for something more “trendy” on your resume? You need to get over your neurodivergent obsession with this sort of thing.
>>60623131Another 'high level technical field' detected.
If you're past the age of 25 you should only be getting stoned if you're an 8fig homeowner with zero debt. Then you may start again (casually).
Old rich people who talk about weed are almost exclusively talking about gummies that they take nightly to relieve the high stress of their careers. They aren't smoking bongs in a dank room with no furniture.
>>60623152Another 1st year computers major detected.
