Where do these morons get the balls to tell me I'm not the one being realistic, when I'm the highest offer, by a significant margin, after 4 months?

Good luck finding the retard who will pay asking price, they probably will but the buyer will be an absolute fucking retard and therefore very difficult to deal with. Sale will most likely collapse in 18 months time and come back onto the market.

It all depends on your lender's valuation of the house. They won't lend more than it's deemed to be worth. So, if your bank deems it to be only worth 270 or lower, you could then much more easily convince the sellers to sell it to you for that amount. That's how I got my house for several thousand lower than asking despite their being multiple interested buyers.
