Nah, putting a bunch of chemicals on that block your pores every day isn't problematic for skin health.

It could be a number of reasons. Easiest solution is switching her birth control to one that helps with acne. But yeah maybe she is drinking more or gaining weight. Plus well it is summer, people get more acne cause they sweat more.

Have her take Zinc (preferably a high quality version like Life Extension's Zinc 50mg) after each meal two or three times daily. If that doesn't work have her take a few grams of pantothenic acid each day.
