what are the best items to flip for someone like me? should I start researching a niche / particular market? if so, which ones are worth it and which are garbage? do I roam around garage sales and use mk ultra tactics?

to give some context, I live in the DMV area, so if that affects something, lemme know. thanks

Yes. Go around and give people heroic doses of LSG against their will.

Triplettes, but that's not what MK Ultra means in the commoners' language.
It means "shaping society with highly effective but detrimental subliminal media tropes".

Blatant examples would be the 100% scene in the Lucy movie, or the "let them in" scene in 2012.

i used to buy storage units with my dad years ago, you can start out by going to swap meets or garage sales as a start and getting familiar with brands. good brands are what people pay for at the end of the day, no matter if they're electronics, bikes, sports equipments, tools, musical instruments, car parts, etc. you should also get good at fixing things, as many times you will come across some broken item that the owner doesn't want to bother fixing and you can make a decent profit getting it working again.

another avenue is furniture restoration, people literally throw away solid wood furniture, and all it takes is a good sanding and painting or even just cleaning it and you can 10x your money on some pieces. you should also have some sort of garage to store all this stuff in.

Go to the local dump or recycling center in your area and grab the flatscreen TVs when no one is looking and then flip them for $30 to $50 each at the local pawn shop. Thats what I do.

Boomers throw away perfectly functional LCD TVs just because they got a bigger one so the electronics shed at the dump is always full of them. But you have to sneak them out when the workers are busy because they know they are valuable as well.

There are other things at the dump that can be flipped like old crates with old company logos on them, carberators off of broken dirtbikes or lawnmowers, old metal signs with old company logos on them, and so on. Anything you can pawn or put on marketplace. When you get the merchandise for free you can sell at any price for a profit and make your money through volume.

Basically just learn how to go full crack head, Anon.

Its less lucrative because it doesnt happen as often anymore, but you can still pick up old CRT TVs free and legal off the side of the road and then sell them on market place to retro gaymers for $50 to $80 each. You'd be suprised what people are charging for those old things now that they are trendy.

Other Anon is right about refurbishing and flipping old furniture too, but I will add that you can do the same thing with old appliances that people leave on the side of the road like mini fridges and microwaves. Most of the stuff will normally still work, the owner is just getting rid of it because they got a better one and dont want to pay to get rid of the old one so they put it on the side of the road, so just clean up the old one and sell it for yourself. People would totally pay $20 for a old microwave and it cost you nothing to get it anyways.

Also, you can't steal garbage even if the people at the dump say you aren't allowed to take it. Be an alpha and exert your dominance.

You sound orange and clearly live with momma in a trailer, embittered because she spent all your youth sucking Tyrone and Mohammed’s dick when she should have been holding you. Your dad was clearly never in the picture, but he’s in jail from also sucking Tyrone and Mohammed’s dick. Die forever alone, red neck. Should have got a ged.

Someone on /b/ helped me out a lot 15 years ago by introducing me to affiliate marketing so I'll try to do something similar for you now

Media - books, CDs, DVDs

Apply to sell on Amazon

Get a scouting app (free, can upgrade to paid later) - https://www.asellertool.com/scoutly.html

Get a handheld bluetooth scanner - https://www.amazon.com/Eyoyo-Bluetooth-Wireless-Portable-Computers/dp/B07YV47J6W/

You scan the items, the app tells you your profit. So simple a retard can do it. Takes no expertise or knowledge at all.

You'll also eventually want to get a repricer - https://repriceit.com/

It's up to you to research further and learn how to create FBA shipments, and so on. The /b/ guy didn't teach me how to build Wordpress sites either. These are the basics, you will learn how to be better at it over time. Where to source, what to look for, etc.

Oh, anon. You got me excited. Thought this post was going in a completely different direction. What you meant to say was you bought the shit left inside of storage units. The real money is in owning the storage units themselves.

Book scouting is one of the worst most boring forms of resale. Don’t do this. Too much work with low margins. You want quality over quantity. Book sales and media are highly competitive with a bunch of scan monkeys you have to compete with. I once saw a family of 5 Mexicans all with barcode scanners at a book sale. I did this for 3 years and regret wasting my time on it. If you’re going to sell books deal in antique and high end leather sets. Honestly just start with new in the box items that you’ll come across fairly often. Don’t bother buying used items that need testing or cleaning. Time is money. The time it took you to test that boombox you could have listed 15 new items. I’m not going to tell you many items to sell other than new. Health beauty, cosmetics is a good start
