On a dex. But which dex depends on the token you are swapping to. Some might not have all pairs and some will have deeper liquidity. Most likely answer is Uniswap, Curve (for stables) or even Sushi in some cases.

Or use an aggregator like CoW Swap.
Make sure to set low slippage or you might get rekt by MEV.

Aggregators add a little bit more risk. There have been few cases where the routing has bugged and chosen a low liq pool fucking up the swap completely. I remember it being big news when some few million USDC swap got routed to a dead pool with 1inch. OP should do the swaps in small batches anyway. It's easy to find the best pools manually and just swap on that dex directly.

I never knew 1inch had a fuckup. For me they are the best. But yes why swap more then 5 eth at a time with these gas fees. 1inch fusion swap should be more save tho, there the bots take all risks.

Let's say you have 15/16 ETH that you want to swap for LINK (ugh, I know) - how do you do it step by step? Explain like I'm retarded (I am).

Not going to spoonfeed every click you have to make. The dex websites are simple and idiot proof. Maybe start with a tiny amount so if you somehow manage to fuck up you don't lose your $50k.

You might regret swapping ETH for underperforming alts unless you're scalping or swing trading.
ETH is getting a lot of ETF inflows as of lately and these inflows will not pump ecosystem coins.

Fees are tiny if you dont swap on uniswap. Also this pair is highly liquid so you have no problem. Because i expected more then 15. But you can still swap 5 everytime.

Yeah i also think Ethereum will keep outperforming a bit. But next year boomers might discover defi, just as they discovered eth this year and Bitcoin last year, so a swap from eth to link could be a golden trade at some point.

optiswap if it's one of their supported tokens, gas optimization accounts for liquidity and gas fee.
cowswap also does gas optimization.

I don’t think it will be that long with the way coinbase is trying to fast track it. The push to move into defi has already been in the works and we might even see some stuff happening this year. Whether or not normies fall for the bait is still tbd, but I’m mostly all in on Base coins so that’s my hopium
