After quitting my job about five to six months ago due to gay return-to-office (RTO) policies, I've spent my time traveling and working on various personal projects and NEET'ing. Now that I'm re-entering the job market, I'm updating my resume and facing a question that I think a lot of people might encounter:

Is it acceptable to list my last position as "present" on my resume, even though I left several months ago? For context, many companies and third-party background check services require candidates to re-enter their actual employment dates during the hiring process. When that happens, I would, of course, provide the true dates I was employed.

I'm curious—what is the best way to approach this situation on a resume?

Sounds like techfag, if you're applying at companies where they'll pay you within the level band regardless and your YoE are actually meaningful and not just retarded low iq boomer's interpretation of seniority then just put your actual quit date on there.
Else put present if you think the knuckledraggers in HR will lowball you at the lower tier companies

If it is all 2025 put that. Or creatively conclude that your 2022-2024 job was actually 'up untill 2025' and write 2022-2025.

This. I lie so much im amazed at what i get away with. At my last job i lied my way to 8 years of experience when i only have 5 to get paid more. I called the register whos job it is to keep track of experience, got documents, and literally just changed a few dates in fucking paint. And it worked. This was 3 years ago. Employers are fucking retarded

Yeah as an HR recruitment agent I can tell you this is a very bad idea. We are trained to sniff out lies like this. If I see someone have a gap for over a month usually it's a no for me, it just shows that you don't have a sense of responsibility.

this is emblematic of everything wrong with the labor market. god forbid someone take some time off because they can afford to right? wouldnt want anyone who has a shred of self-respect or a desire for a life that doesnt include work.
i hope you and your kin die in your sleep.

> as a obese hr roastie, you have to be perfect or ill say no
Lmao, the fat hr cunt in my interviews didnt catch any of my bullshit, and i managed to get 17% higher salary then they offered. If you start working out, lower the emphasis that your job title is your identity, and halve your time on sovial media, you might attract a mid man. Gl on that tho. Stay strong and independent bossgirl
