You're telling me if I can just get $5 milliion dollars, I could earn 200k/yr in yield by holding USDC on Coinbase and just live off of that?

You can trade it out for something that is easily. What's your point? Lots of people use Tether for holding, since it's supposed to be stable. It would be stable if it was actually backed by an equivalent amount of usd. It's not.

Look into the risks and benefits of lending your USDC on a decentralized platform like aave, morpho, and compound.finance. newfags on here complaining about it but if youve been here long enough, you can tell most of them are technologically illiterate.

40k/year is enough to live very well in a villa on a tropical beach in Asia and still save a good part of it because fuck taxes once you leave the states you don't pay tax under 140k income and most developing countries aren't set up to tax foreign income from crypto.

I'm not so sure you want to be trusting credit investments in the year 2025. The amount of claims/IOUs on the real world are stacking up far faster than the actual economy so that means a large portion of it is no good. We're not in a post-scarcity world where none of this matters. Most people don't realize essentially 100% of your savings is being consumed and there is nothing left to pay you. The system is trying to manage the interest payments and everyone invested in it is playing a fatal game of musical chairs.

Problem is it's absurdly fucking expensive to hand out $50k a year to every old person just for being old when old people live longer and there's not ten times as many young people to pay for them

I don't know. Before social security half of seniors died in poverty or lived in poor houses. I don't see why the government couldn't go back to this state. On top of this younger people just aren't having kids so they can't rely on them. No savings, no welfare state, no kids. I forsee a bleak future

This is funny. The globe collectively overconsumed every last resource we created and we have zero savings. It's more likely that retirees will be eating expired cans of catfood while they wait to get tossed in to open pit mass graves than they are to be cared for by high tech robotics and A.I.
It is not even a guarantee our country can even maintain the depreciation on all of the capital that we DO have. An example would be states not being able to maintain the highway system without federal government deficit spending.
Despite what MMT economists might say, things like infrastructure spending and healthcare are not growing the economy. These are COSTS you have to be able to afford. It is better for healthcare spending to be 1% of the economy instead of 15%. Same goes for finance as well as the myriad of "service" jobs we have here. It is no longer resting on the back of productive capital and labor but more and more on the expansion of credit which is having diminishing returns.

It has $9BN in cash on hand, no debt, and a $10BN market cap. It has also been theorized that a massive short squeeze is latent in this stock which is why the company has such a bizarre valuation.
During the 2008 crash, VW literally did the exact opposite which is charactering of naked-short-sold securities.
A crash is a cascade of selling.
Naked short sold equities such as GME (and VW) have the opposite problem. They have a cascade of market BUYING.
Smart money is seeing the similarities and finding that the systemic-naked-short-selling thesis is 100% factually real. So game theory shows that all you need to do is buy up as much as you can. This 100% shields you from market collapse and will also give you the opportunitity of a lifetime to sell an asset at its all time high to buy up blue chips and everything else when they are on a firesale.
This is 100% proven FACT and there is nothing that can be done to stop it.

look at those mongoloids.
Usdc is fully audited and has backed reserves. tether is just a little bit more shaddy but it also has reserves.
This is verified. you're really just trying to look smart but you have no idea.
Also USDC is the glowie / gov stable coin so it's the most secure. Only problem is they can freeze your assets if they feel like it and that is a big concern
