whatever society looked like from 1960 - 2020, it won't ever look like again. and possibly we're getting a lot less people around.

Tesla doesn't have a history of cooking their books, if they did then there'd have been leaks about it. However, they have a big dependence on government doles, which they're about to lose if Trump gets his way.

My cousin is a senior software developer at a SF AI startup and he said it's to the point they don't bother hiring junior software developers because why bother when AI+ a senior developer is just if not more efficient

Why doesn't it just use the popcorn holder to scoop instead of scooping with a scoop and pouring it into the popcorn box

I've been looking for a new SWE job lately and can confirm. I'm having to apply to senior roles that I'm qualified for but don't want to do because there are basically no junior roles anymore. In 20 years you'll have the same problem the trades are having now where everyone's old and there's a shortage, but no one wants to train young people because they want to secure their own bag.

In two years AI will have eradicated senior roles.
In four years, the companies that run their whole management on data centers will be the mots valuable, literally just stakeholders and a machinery worth trillions, maybe five chosen owners.

ai is like a junior developer that never learns anything from your clarifications, so you get to include the entire context all over again for the next task. i wouldn't hold my breath on it improving to a point you can throw the usual vague requirements at it and get any useful output
