Not really, it costs like 18/17 due to exchange fees + withdrawl fees and the fee to price ratio goes a bit lower as you spend more money in higher amounts. There is an issue with fees though if you constantly send back and forth, or ue defi constantly even on cheap chains like dolana.

Maybe like 15 years ago, nowadays there's a dozen big reputable exchanges that have been around for years, and you can still self-custody so there's minimal risk if you buy and withdraw, and even plenty of tradfi ETFs to buy BTC with so you don't need to deal with this shit either.
