>when you spent the last 9 months of the job doing next to nothing and now there are people starting to ask questions
>when your entitlement to higher pay and lower work is through the roof and you're genuinely annoyed that people would question you

I couldn't care less anymore. So many consultants have been piled into my area and they're all so slow at what they do.

I was one of the /overemployed/ Chads they wrote articles about in 2021. As soon as remote work came in I gamed the system immediately knowing there would be an adjustment period where very little would or could be done. I had 3 remote jobs, each paying in or around 100k. I maintained this for 2 years and managed to make 600k.

don't you have KPI's?
since my company threatened to force us to RTO i became the laziest shit ever
also passive agressive with management
the day they say we have to RTO i will not even notify them that i will leave

I've actually started going into the office more because there's less accountability. If I'm remote and don't respond to a message in 15 minutes they assume I'm out running errands but if I'm in the office and I don't respond to a message in 15 minutes they assume I'm at a co-workers cubicle. I live down the street from the office so it isn't a problem for me.

No, I just have vague targets personally and my team consistently missed its only deadline by months and no one really cared.

I just found out the Dev guys have had metrics for some time. And I think the expectation is that we'll have them before long. Kpis are the opposite of my desired work style, and good luck to them if they attempt to mess the wonderfully diverse experience that is my daily occupation. We don't all work the same. And that diversity must be respected. Some of us don't do kpis

i wouldn't mind going into the office one bit if it was <= 15 min away. but my office is in seattle. there is no way in fuck i'm moving to or commuting to seattle, ever. so i'm going to stay remote. they hired me "permanently remote" as part of my contract, so i think they'd have to lay me off if they don't like it.

Laid off from 300k wfh 10 days ago.

Severance is like $80k + unemployment could be used for $1.1k/wk.

I'm about to get breakfast in Taichung then walk to 2 campuses looking for cuties. Rate my day

I've found that 80% of the people on my department are incredibly unproductive.
Time estimations on projects are 3x what it actually takes.
I don't know if that's because everyone is not working most of the time or becuase they are just that slow.
Working from home has really shown just how useless most people are.

I vowed in 2022 that I would NEVER go back to the office and when my company finally did forced RTO I sure enough got laid off and took the severance.
Since then I have just been consulting so I only get paid when I actually work, but it's still incredibly comfy. Got around 2 years of expenses saved (liquid) plus other investments so if I don't have any paid work for a month or two I just go surfing a bunch and work on hobby projects.
Stick to your guns WFH chads, there is no need to waste valuable hours of your one life commuting to a fluorescently lit adult daycare.
>inb4 someone calls me a dumbass for having that much liquid cash. I know.
