I lost 9.5 BTC (~$1 Million) using the built-in swap feature inside Ledger Live. The provider, Cripto InterCambio (CIC), took custody of my Bitcoin but never delivered the USDT. I followed all procedures, KYC, and confirmations. Now CIC is ghosting me, and Ledger says it’s not their responsibility. I have full proof. This is a warning and a cry for help.

I’m 21 years old. With my father’s help, I’ve been investing in crypto for years. I’ve always tried to do things safely. That’s why I used Ledger Live — thinking it was a trusted, secure ecosystem.

On June 22, 2025, I swapped 9.55903438 BTC to USDT through Ledger Live, using their integrated provider Cripto InterCambio (CIC).

Here are the key details: • Swap ID: v1l357dtesyra7ac • BTC TXID: 416625e9c90567dcd831e6beacd87e7f61571bf66aa168b14f7bf0045cbb2b19 • Receiving address (on-chain): bc1qyapkmvtlpdqcmah4dfgauydeydye70tj2ceczy • My return/refund address: 3CeZDHZQpTMM9VRCE76EwmRGn53T3gZtzB

The BTC left my wallet. It was confirmed. But I never received the USDT.

They requested KYC. I submitted it. Then they asked for source-of-funds documentation — I even dug up an old transaction from Bittrex. Still, nothing. No refund, no tokens, no resolution.

I contacted Ledger, expecting them to help since I used their app. They brushed it off, saying it’s “a third-party partner” and not their responsibility.

So who is responsible when Ledger sends you to a swap partner that holds your money?

What was the point of crypto again? Something to do with not having to trust centralized shitbags?

Am I missing something or is the solution to having your money stolen not just to find a lawyer and go after them, especially when it's life changing money even if you get half of it back

I'll pretend you're being serious OP. This is why I'm ironclad in my belief that many of the rich out there never earned shit and simply got stupidly lucky. "Wealth is a sign of high iq" my ass, you wouldn't be making an extremely goofy ass mistake like OP if that were true.
> he sent all $1 mil in one transaction
> he trusted a third party
> not only that, but he got phished by said third party asking for "kyc" on a fucking dex of all things
I just can't with this world sometimes.

This is why Satoshi wanted DeFi, no need to trust a middle man, only trust the code of the dapp.

I used ledger swap in the past on Ethereum but there it at least was a normal swap. With bitcoin it's more risky

a lot of gravedancing here which is retarded if this is not larp. But something isn't adding up here, agree with how fucking stupid someone can be to swap 1 million all at once and not get flagged by glowie agency, but if there is any truth to some of this and ledger just another nail in the coffin

I think it doesn't matter much as long as you only send direct to addresses.
The swaps anywhere is where it gets sketchy. This may be true, and he may still get his money, but regardless, he didn't have any clue where he was actually sending that btc if it's true.

Also, never send it all at once.

its not a sign of high iq but its somewhat correlated for obvious reasons. if you're dumb chances are high that even if you fall on money you'll fuck it up and lose it all
