I've started at this company recently, a pretty good deal for someone with relatively low qualifications. Its demanding, but not stressful, let me just put it that way
It would be all great if it wasnt for this one nosey, extrovert co-worked.
Latino guy, not full black but definatelly a mix of something, extreme extrovert.
We kicked it off well but he started getting annoyed that i wasn't as talkative as him and i was in fact an introvert and "boring" in his words.
He then went on to insinuate i have autism, to semi-openly show his disdain to me, to ignore my requests for help or pretend he's busy and leave me hanging for tasks i need to fullfill, etc.
He basically works in short bursts and then goes to chit-chat with the women in the company, which basically amounts to "jokes" about how he finds them hot and "funny" flirting. Yet he says to me (and other male co-workers) that hes the only guy who works hard in this company, and you can tell hes not kidding when he says this.
It was heaven when he got sick for a week, and even more so when i got a different workmate during a saturday who actually wasnt a dickhead not an extrovert.

What can i do to remediate this situation? When he socializes with me now, its either trying to ask impertinent questions to then inmediatelly repeat my answer to the other coworkers, or just trying to push my buttons and insult me to see if he gets a reaction because "hes bored"

What do i do about him? Hes very childish in general

he's ok to hang out with every couple weeks and have a beer, but working with them is hell. extremely mercurial people. he's a gambling addict as well.
i would suggest just keeping your head down and don't let him get to you. if he harasses you, report him to your boss and ask for a shift change. don't confront him unless you are at least as strong and heavy as he is. they will take advantage of physical weakness.

Either make friends with somebody above him that can fire him/holds power over him (or have him at least BELIEVE that you're friends with somebody that can fire him) or get some dirt on him that could lead to him being fired (HR violations? Stealing from the company? etc.) and give him a big hint that you have dirt on him.

Otherwise, try to get transferred somewhere you don't have to put up with him. Hate retards like that.

If he annoys you, chances are he annoys everyone else at the company. It may take 6-18 months but eventually he will piss off enough people and be let go.

Just keep up a professional appearance, do good work, get promoted above him then when someone complains to you about him you fire him. You never know how is related to whom, so never talk bad about him to anyone, it could be his sister, cousin, brother in law, etc. Watch, listen, learn who the more trusted professional people are and deal with them as much as possible to build your professional reputation, they may give you helpful info for upcoming promotions/transfers making your current situation temporary.

The least bad solution I've found is to be non-reactive/unemotional towards them while also showing them a basic level of politeness (say good morning to them etc)

If he’s dodging work and making it harder for you to do your job, start documenting everything and report it to your higher-ups, every time. If they still won’t deal with him, then stop covering for him. Let the unfinished tasks speak for themselves. You should also refer to him as "that shitskin" instead of using his name. They need to be reminded of what they are from time to time. Otherwise they get cocky and start thinking they're equals.

Don't worry about it. Obviously worry about it though since it's bothering you a bit. Sorry to hear about your situation but part of life is realizing that we're going to have to work with people that we don't necessarily like. Does that make them bad? Maybe?

But at the same time you have to remember that you're not there to socialize, you're there to work. If he tries to give you shit for not talking just be like "Hey man do we mind if we talk about this later, I have to get this done." Using people's names when you say something psychologically makes them more open to listen to you, so you can also say something like. "Yo so and so, I'm really busy right now and I need to focus on this." If it gets to be a problem you can report it to your supervisor since no one deserves to get bullied at work. As a Latino, I have to work with assholes like this too, and I mostly keep to myself. I only really talk during lunch breaks. He's probably trying to be a macho man, which can be annoying. Never give him a reaction, and if you do just try to make it funny. When you work a lot with other men, we tend to just bust balls and shoot the shit with each other. Try to not take things too seriously and focus on your job. If you need help, then try to sound sincere. If someone else needs help then definitely try to help them too. This guy is probably trying to figure you out, and just wants to push your buttons.

You will just have to rely on HR, and if your company is not retarded, you should be fine.

Go ahead and go to HR and say, "I really am not trying to create any weird situations at work, but", then give a few examples of what hes doing. Make sure to mention he is kind of impeding your work progress.

Then chill for a few weeks, if he continues, go back to HR. He will either stop after being warned by him or outright fired. They will keep you anonymous, just do not tell him you went to HR, and keep acting friendly.
