I'd much prefer a villa in some wine- and pork-producing town in the countryside, as haram as possible.

Dubai
Norway (Bergen/Oslo)
Netherlands (Rotterdam)
Japan (Kyoto)
Singapore
New Zealand (Wellington)

and maybe some of the spanish islands if you're an actual boomer (Tenerife, Gran Canaria)

It's a great city but it has a bad climate. If you really make it the best is to enjoy it during summer and spend the rest of the year somewhere else.

You might not enjoy it if you're mentally ill like and can't stand the existence of non-europeans minding their own business and breathing the same air. See :

Yes, it was a bit like the return of glorious France before the EU and Globohomo. They expelled the drug dealers, the housing projects, they went into elitist Third Reich mode with QR codes to enter the city. The environmentalist Hildalgo, who usually makes the city impossible to live in, made an effort and cleaned it up... it should be like this ALL THE TIME! Even I, as a Frenchman, don't feel comfortable in Paris, except when I go to the 6th or the 16th or La Défense. Elsewhere, I look over my shoulder...

If we look at the dirty and dangerous London of the Victorian era, I think Paris is a bit the same now. All it would take is putting the right people in power and leaving the EU to be able to implement the program. Then they'll see... When the tourists disappear and the city no longer has this financial windfall because of the insecurity, they will have to change things. It's scandalous that an American, a Chinese person, etc., who has saved up for a long time for their trip, arrives in Paris and is robbed after 10 minutes. Personally, when I hear that, I'm ashamed. Thanks Frenchbros, it seems they want to block the country from September 10th, I might participate.

I had a Vietnamese work colleague in Australia. He had just got back from holidays in Vietnam visiting his relatives. I was asking him what's it like there and would he want to go back and live there some day (as I was interested in maybe moving there, but I didn't tell him that), and he said "no way, when I got off the plane and arrived back in Sydney I kissed the ground"

I've subsequently travelled to a few different South east Asian countries and I could see the point he was making.

I completely agree, the Bayrou plan is very insufficient and doesn't target the right people, we'll have to start again next year... In addition, there are tons of unnecessary expenses like state agencies, the madness with renewable energies, the tribute to Ukraine that can be stopped. When there is a lack of money for citizens, why do all this... It's like Louis XIV building monuments while people are dying of hunger.

South of Colmar: Eguisheim. Nice little town.

Ribeauvillé for its castles and the Taennchel range.

All the area at the base of the mountains is nice (where the vineyards are). You should definitely go to the mountainside for a more chill and outdoor experience. Many hikes to do with breathtaking panoramas. Many "fermes auberges" for Typisch food (dude try the roïgabrageldi, trust me), no fancy bullshit. Reservation mandatory if you want to have a table.

The north part is nice too. More wild, different mountains and fairly less touristic.

In Germany, but not on the border, check out Heidelberg. And many spas in the mountainside.

Visited it two months ago, it was super nice. The whole place was really beatiful with just the kind of classic architecture you would expect. There were almost no homeless people (compared to the hordes in big cities in USA), no junkies/drunks and the brownies were all working the shit jobs. So many amazing places to see. The best, most beautiful city i have seen, and i’ve visited places like New York and Miami.

Also the food was super good and cheap for the top tier quality (compared to places like USA or scandinavia). Locals were nice and shop clerks were super friendly.

go visit. COL crisis. Trash everywhere, homeless everywhere. Good luck getting clean food for third world help who doesnt wash their hands. people in your face claiming to try to sell you stuff but really trying to pick pocket you. failing infrastructure, try taking a first world sized shit in a third world sized sewer pipe. just do what the natives do, throw it into the street.

visit in proper accommodations, sure. live there lmao never

What the fuck are you talking about? There was very little trash and like no homeless people, unlike american cities that are full of them. And yes i visited multiple differebt areas in Paris. Didn’t smell pee anywhere

it's true that you can criticize Paris/France and Italy/Spain, but compared to the US, there's virtually no homeless (I said virtually). I've been to LA, DC, SF. Holy fucking shit.
