>>60740309>I suspect youre too autistic to move into management like me?too... something. i can lead a small team of engineers great (think 5 other people or so) and people seem to genuinely like my presence and advice, but i absolutely refuse to spend a large minority of my time justifying the existence of my team to strangers. if someone is doing a good job, i'll let them know, and if someone can do better i'll let them know, but the idea of having to devote a large amount of energy to a stupid meta-game of politics and "impact-seeking" will never sit right with me
i enjoy solving business problems for people, even if the business itself is completely uninspiring and soul-less. because the people you work (at the non-executive level) generally aren't, and i find enjoyment in making things happen that other people can't
