Artificial intelligence isn't actually that bad. Its the people using it that outputs poor results. That being said the way it currently is implimented has been severely consequential.

What you're seeing are people who should be picking potatoes out of the ground or as a trash collector using generative AI to make money.

For me, instead of scrolling through youtube, github, reddit, niche forums. I can readily fix problems happening with my homelab equipment by outputting log text into an LLM to find a quick resolution. Have an obscure issue with installing a linux disribution that you cant figure out? Use an LLM, what does this issue mean and how can i fix it? Use an LLM.

Instead of using an LLM on how to maintain your car, how to maintain your home, what are good ways to invest your paycheck. People want to use LLMs as a get rich quick scheme, and theyre blaming the AI for obviously failing that part. Its like people are buying a hammer, putting it in a toolbox, and then using that toolbox to start hammering in a nail. Then when the toolbox has a hole in it, people start crying about how the toolbox is broken.

i've noticed this too with how people talk about chatGPT. like they frame it as being wrong all the time
and, yeah, maybe it is. but the real way your supposed to us it is like having a conversation with it. ask it stuff, relay information you know yourself, ask it to clarify stuff, restate stuff in your own words
you do this stuff and you learn, and it's extremely obvious when it's out of its knowledge (contradicts itself, misunderstands you).
