It's time for Europe's century of humiliation. Trump knows he can get the EU to sing on command. This is the most apathetic, detached, crony bureaucratic entity on Earth, they give absolutely no shits about "losing" on a deal since they don't care about the underlying citizens at all. It's an abstract cosmopolitan entity, this is precisely why nationalism is so crucial. No attachment to the land/people = no stakes = terrible governance.

The fact that their Overton Window literally does not even contain the option "Dominate the world as a resurgent European Empire" shows you how far their have fallen.

>pharma tariffs
he has the EU by the balls, the EU doesn't even produce anything other than pharmaceuticals, all EU industry has been outsourced to third world nations. It's the stupidest thing they ever decided to do, but they just absolutely had to be ''carbon neutral'' (which means that they don't allow emissions within the EU but pollute equally as much or even more overseas) and kill every single vital industry there was. But at least they have clean air, right? lmao

orange nigger can't actually put tariffs on pharmaceuticals. it's a bluff. most EU pharma products are brand and specialty drugs (otherwise they would be generic and manufactured in shitholes like india for pennies on the dollar.) normies, who are already being assraped by inflation, lose access to their expensive brand/specialty drugs and there will be a revolt.

this whole trade deal is such a humiliation ritual for Europe.

And their only other options is getting raped by Russia or selling whatever is left of their souls to China.
(or try to build their own resource base in Africa, but coincidentally, in 2014, all of north africa exploded at once, and Euro bases got kicked out)

Seeing this dynamic, Trump decided to squeeze them for all it's worth. And after grand standing for a few days, they conceded to all demands. Like in the Suez Crisis.

That's why they're not sending these deals to legislatures to be codified, but I'm personally not so hopeful about him backing down. Any court case against the tariffs will almost certainly go to the Supreme Court, which is stacked in his favor. Even if they overturn the IEEPA tariffs, he can still use Section 301 to continue putting blanket tariffs on countries while going around Congress. As for a recession, he'll just blame Powell for not lowering rates sooner. The only reason he delayed tariffs in April was because countries were dumping Treasuries, so unless they plan to do that again, I don't see a situation where he backs off.

Now that I typed that out, I'm gonna end up eating my words sooner or later.

In July 1991, Trump’s Taj Mahal filed for bankruptcy. He could not keep up with debts on two other Atlantic City casinos, and those two properties declared bankruptcy in 1992. A fourth property, the Plaza Hotel in New York, declared bankruptcy in 1992 after amassing debt.

>PolitiFact uncovered two more bankruptcies filed after 1992, totaling six. Trump Hotels and Casinos Resorts filed for bankruptcy again in 2004, after accruing about $1.8 billion in debt. Trump Entertainment Resorts also declared bankruptcy in 2009, after being hit hard during the 2008 recession.
