I recently found a very old laptop I used to use. I have access to the HDD and lo and behold found a multibit folder. I don't know if I had any BTC but I definitely remember looking into bitcoin around that time (thanks to 4chan) and finding faucets etc. There's no .key file in the multibit folder, however there are .info files and .wallet files. Is there any way for me to find out if there any btc hidden on this old piece of shit hard drive? Multibit is now defunct and their website points here: https://github.com/Multibit-Legacy/multibit

any help with figuring out if there's any point in fucking around here is much appreciated. thanks in advance :)

chatgpt won't do anything except try to point me to the (now defunct) multibit webpage. Knowledge needed to actually get into these wallets/files at this point is too specific I believe.

The github literally says move to electrum wallet. Can you try pointing electrum to use the .wallet file if you don’t remember the wallet words?

ahhh fuck, managed to find the wallet address & it has 0 activity. No free BTC for me :'(
